Hi Eds is there any truth in RM now willing to meet our asking price of £70m for DDG? Are we really willing to let DDG go at that price or even let him go at all?
Thanks in advance.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - Put aside any thoughts about money, but REal Madrid have three goalkeepers in mind as replacements for Keylor Navas, one of which is De Gea. PSG also have De Gea on their list of goalkeepers they are looking to.}

21 Nov 2017 14:01:36
In the world where 16 year and 18 year old kids go for 40 mn and 160 mn respectively the best keeper in the world should be going for a couple hundred million at the least or Madrid can do one.

21 Nov 2017 15:11:40
Unfortunatly CAN its not as simple as that. If he has 2 years on his contract and wants to go he holds all the cards or most of them anyway. If he won't sign a new deal then he has to be sold really.

I agree with you that the price is too low but with only 2 years left on his contract it diminishes our ability to negotiate from a position of strength. If he had 4 or 5 years left then you can charge what you demand or send them packing.

Thanks vm Ed002 for the response. Most appreciated.
I do hope we don’t sell DDG. Hope too that DDG will stay with us for a while.

Thanks again for response Ed.
Who do you then think would take over DDG when he leaves? Do you think we will buy a new GK or promote within pls? Thanks again.

{Ed002's Note - Manchester United will bring in a replacement for De Gea when he goes. I avoided this in the Sharkopod as Real Madrid have three possible options in mind and until we see what is intended. Options will be similar to the the summer when it was thought he was leaving save for Ederson - who was always moving to Manchester City in any case. Jan Oblak and Samir Handanovic would almost certainly be considerations.}

Just read on Manchester United Updates on Facebook that we have an interest in Valencias Carlos SOLER. Any of the Eds know him and know if rumour has any legs?

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - I have dealt with this several times and on the Sharkopod.}

20 Nov 2017 17:57:53
There is an interest as CM option, its possible but very expensive, and he is not the first choice, per Ed002.

Agree0 0Disagree

21 Nov 2017 00:17:28
First choice being Milinkovic Savic at Lazio, If I recall correctly.

Agree0 0Disagree

21 Nov 2017 07:38:40
Can anyone of you describe those two for me? What their playstyle is like etc.? Who would you prefer if you could chose? I have never seen them play. Thanks.

Agree0 0Disagree

21 Nov 2017 08:53:12
Carlos Soler is technically good with very good passing and dribbling ability, able to pick spaces and drive the pass foward and very versatile, he sees and executes the final ball really well and is also a decent scorer. He can play as CM or RW, he prefers CM position.

Segej Milinkovic Savic, like Soler is technically better, physically dominant, can dribble, scores goals and versatile, but his passing ability not good as of Carlos Soler.

Great Sharkopod Ed. always enjoy them to be honest.

Thanks again, keep up the great work!

Doesn't sound like there is much happening this Jan.
Interest moved on from dybala and Griezmann, could move for lewandowski in the summer to replace ibra and his outrageous wage .
Interest in a top end cb and savic again more likely summer if Jose still here.

Jan - Try for Rose and maybe CM if Fellaini goes, maybe Ozil

Summer - Lewandoski, David and a CB (Umtiti or Upa Meccano? )

Agree0 0Disagree

16 Nov 2017 20:38:14
Dayot Upamecano and if any there are to be any jan signings I thought it seemed more likely to be Rose and Fabregas.

Agree0 2Disagree

16 Nov 2017 21:41:10
Can't see any coming in. More likely see players leave than anything. Only realistic one could be Fabergas. Going to have to wait to summer to see all the big names come in.

Agree0 0Disagree

16 Nov 2017 21:43:18
I really can't see spurs letting rose go on jan. If rose is keeping his head down and not upsetting the camp I can see no reason for them to strengthen a rival for the remainder of the season.
Don't see much else on the horizon unless fellaini goes in Jan.
Not the best time to do business but sometimes a deal can be done that gives the squad a lift. I will live in hope for a left back.

A car salesman a few months ago Claire store be one of Roses best mates whilst growing up, he did have pictures of the two of them playing golf at Forest pines on his phone.
He said tha Rose wanted to move to OT but Spurs were predictably playing hard ball. Make of it what you want but he s either a crazy stalker or telling the truth lol.

Reports today stating fellaini has rejected offers to extend contrqct with us.

Dont normally buy in to the rags news but i wreckon this is probably true.

Believable5 2Unbelievable

15 Nov 2017 14:51:53
why are we trying to get him to extend? he's not good enough for one and he doesn't want to be here for two. few good performances in a red shirt do not mean he's united quality

get rid in jan and bring in goretzka.

Agree10 3Disagree

15 Nov 2017 15:29:21
Disagree completely redwhiskey.

Fellaini is very good for the position/ role he plays which is an impact sub and he's proven this time after time especially under jose.

But if he wants to start week in week out then yes, he will have to move on.

Agree3 4Disagree

15 Nov 2017 16:03:02
He is 29 he wants to start regularly. It's his last big opportunity to negotiate a last big contract on his terms.
Does he want to be a impact sub here and be a cover player or does he want to get the same or more money at a lesser club or a big club in a lesser league.
He is a very good pro and has shown great attitude and professionalism during his time here and yes he does possess obvious and different attributes to other players but he is not my cup of tea. I respect him as a man and as a professional and jose rates him so i'm indifferent. If the manager wants him In the squad for next season then fine but if the player doesn't want to be here and wants to try something else I won't be disappointed.
Put yourself in his shoes 20 starts and 30 bench appearances at united is the best he can hope for and that's before united sign another midfielder in the summer. He knows he can't command a regular starting position so i would admire him if he chooses to move to Turkey to play weekly and this is his last chance to do that and command huge wages if he goes on a free or nominal fee.

Agree6 2Disagree

15 Nov 2017 17:48:59
get real zidane. he was a poor buy and is nothing more than a pump it up option. anti football in my eyes. he is professional and tries hard but that is it. he papers over the cracks with the odd goal. if mourinho rated him so highly he'd be starting. the football were playing at the min is dross enough before bringing that overpaid hairy git on. let him leave for whatever we can get. he's not the answer for anything. if fellaini is the best we can hope for in terms of impact then its no wonder we're a laughing stock at the moment.

Agree3 5Disagree

15 Nov 2017 18:48:05
He is no where near United quality, he gives so many fouls away when brought on to impact a game which always seems to break up our play. Personally would have sold a while ago but def take whatever we can get in jan.

Agree1 2Disagree

15 Nov 2017 19:04:07
Twenty u need to look at the stats for fellaini and his fouls/ bookings for us over the last 2-3 years.

Sorry gents but IMO he is a positive for UTD if he's happy o be a sub and he obviously isn't happy with that.

Agree4 1Disagree

15 Nov 2017 19:42:51
It says it all when we send him on to try and win a game by just lumping it forward for his elbows to give away a foul, I don’t need to look at stats I’ve witnessed with my own eyes on far to many occasions. It was a panic buy, one in which we actually ended up paying more than if we bought him sooner. If we really wanted to him we would have paid the cheaper price a month prior. That move made us look a bit stupid. Do you really think He would get in the Chelsea line up? City? Spurs? No! It was a big mistake from day one.

Agree1 3Disagree

15 Nov 2017 19:48:21
Lol whiskey I've been listening how crap fellaini is for ages yet one of the most successful managers in the history of the game loves him, he walks into arguably the most talented individual team in Belgium and gives nothing less than 100 % everytime he puts a united shirt on and has delivered in some very nervy/ important moments for us .

What does this guy along with endless others have to do to be given a little respect from our "fans"? .

Agree7 1Disagree

15 Nov 2017 20:00:03
Whiskey u have your opinion and i have mine (the stats on elbows and bookings are fact though) .

There are more than a few people on this site who see the value in him and there are some who dont. As i have said, IMO i would like him to stay.

Agree3 0Disagree

15 Nov 2017 20:01:38
DEANo does this most successful manager really rate him? Someone you throw on to try and scrape a result? That’s not rating someone! If I rate someone I play him week in week out a certain starter. Free up the wage bill let him go and get someone better in. I would give 100% if I played for United doesn’t mean I deserve to be at the club.

Agree1 0Disagree

15 Nov 2017 20:10:01
Deano - We are seriously low on combative midfielders. Jose was never going to let him go with no time to bring in alternatives. Saying Jose loves him is a bit OTT, he is needed. It's that simple. I'd be very surprised if Jose was managing PSG or anyone for that matter and he gave Fellaini a call. We need Fellaini right now, it that simple.

Agree1 2Disagree

15 Nov 2017 21:57:07
In some games you need the physical player to get stuck in.
It's not all about fancy players.
Fellani is good for us in both boxes for set pieces and he as a bit of heart.

Agree4 0Disagree

15 Nov 2017 22:44:36
Mourinho clearly rates him as a squad player and I'm fairly sure he probably is better placed to make the call than any of us.

18 Nov 2017 06:44:38
Some said over here that in some games you need the physical player to get stuck in. I think you have enough physicality in your squad to not be depending on Fellaini :D Arguably the most physical squad in the league.

More rumours around that we are to splash a load of money on buying Gareth Bale from Real Madrid next Summer. Bale has been a very good player but he is 29 next Julu. Perhaps more importantly he has missed 40 of Reals last 60 games through injury. I suspect his best days may be behind him.

Believable11 1Unbelievable

14 Nov 2017 00:15:06
Wouldn’t touch him Cinderella. Always preferred griezmann so we can only hope.

Agree6 1Disagree

14 Nov 2017 08:46:20
Griez and Bale are now quite different players but I think the ship has sailed on Bale and we should be looking to players who can stay fit but be equally effective. He’s too bulky now and his explosive pace means he’s always susceptible to an injury. Personally I think the full back positions, especially left back are much more urgent positions to address to give us more balance and width.

Agree5 0Disagree

14 Nov 2017 09:43:03
I like Bale but his injury record just gets worse and worse, I don’t think he is worth the risk any more.

Agree7 0Disagree

14 Nov 2017 10:35:43
I'm a big bale fan and would have loved us to get him last summer, other posters pointed out it was to risky as he's injured a lot and now to be honest they are being proved correct . Very hard to justify big fee and big wages .

Agree1 1Disagree

14 Nov 2017 13:38:01
If Real believed in Bale then he wouldn't be leaving. Too many injuries have cost him. Back to Spurs would be good business.

Agree4 0Disagree

14 Nov 2017 14:49:45
I'm also a long term admirer of bales but at his age and likely cost its a huge risk given his injury record.
Bale at his best is awesome but are we likely to see him fit often enough?
A very reluctant no from me.
Sods law tells me he will sign for spurs and play 150 games in a row if we pass him up.

Agree4 0Disagree

15 Nov 2017 11:52:55
Have never wanted bale and bearing in mind that he is having a bad season at AM I am not convinced that griezmann is worth the money he would cost. Since the board may be unwilling to sanction another huge signing 30 million on ozil might not be the worst shout especially as he has worked with Jose before. I would also agree that sorting out our full back options should be the main priority.

Agree1 0Disagree

15 Nov 2017 14:25:52
Bale is on a downward slide. Griezman looks Barcelona bound. I still say Sanchez would do great at UTD - Jose wanted Willian in the summer (according to willian himself) Sanchez is a better player, works as hard if not harder than willian too. Seems to be destined for City though.

Agree1 0Disagree

15 Nov 2017 15:12:21
If anybody says Bale, I’d rather bring back CR7 since he is more fit than Bale. Having said that, I’d rather we not waste our money getting these 2 “on downhill” players. They’re both getting on with age and although they have experience, Zlatan is enough. We should be looking to “invest” in younger and good potential players. With the same money I’m sure we can buy a few defenders and wingers rather than spend unwisely on Bale and CR7.

Just read on Liverpool page that Manchester united met with Schalke"s leon goretzka's representatives.

Do you see any deal happening and further what are your views on Leon Goretzka.

{Ed002's Note - I think there are other more likely destinations but a discussion has happened - and he certainly would not be first choice for the club.}

Good morning ed002.
I know you said we had looked had 4 potential left wingers and that is the priority above greizman. Can you enlighten us as to who the 4 potential options are that we have looked at?
Does the club not see martial or rashford filling that left sided role long term?
Thanks Ed.

{Ed002's Note -
Gareth Bale (LW) - Will be offered to Manchester United but I think will be priced out of a move when his injuries are taken in to account
Jose Arnaiz (LW) - viable option
Marco Asensio (LW) - unlikely because Madrid want to keep him - which will be easier if Bale goes
Ivan Perisic (LW) - Manchester United could yet return

13 Nov 2017 11:26:28
Thanks ed.
Bales injury record has got to be a concern for an suitors.
Asensio its hard to see him moving
ARNAIZ I know little about ill try and remedy that this morning.
Perisic is in great form for inter so i hope that deal can be revived.
Appreciate your response 002. Have a good day.

Ed, I think it was in the summer you mentioned that Forsberg was someone we had looked at, could he be added to the list above or have we moved on from him now also? Thanks for the info anyway Ed and correct me if I'm wrong about Forsberg, memory's a little hazy.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - Manchester United have watched Forsberg on a number of occasions, as have Arsenal, but I am not aware of any approach to his club or to Cetinkaya, who also represents Lindelof.}

13 Nov 2017 15:14:30
Arnaiz? Interesting choice, asensio
Looks a real talent would be surprised if Madrid let him slip through there fingers although reports are saying 180 mil so you never know, not sure he is a winger .
Perisic just signed a new contract will soon be 29 .
3 very different players.
