I'm probably the only one who would rather have Lewandowski than Falcao. Younger, cheaper, previous play game time with Kagawa, IMO has just as much potential as Falcao and can play as wide wide forward as well as a number 9. Would anybody else rather have Lewy?

Pretty much everyone mate.

2.) 14 Apr 2013
He can't play as a wide wide forward at all, he's been used as a central striker only at dortmund but in your defence for his height and stature he's very good at link up play and is quite fast, but his best role is actually a target man.

3.) 14 Apr 2013
Unfortunately, I have been extensively looking at this for 2yrs and have recently discovered that he is nearer to Bayern than us. The German press and general football media are very reliable. Such a shame, I'd have loved him at united. £15m is a bargain, he is going to be a beast. I hope I'm wrong

4.) 14 Apr 2013
Yes. Falcao is a lot better than Lewandowski in pretty much every aspect of his game other than aerial ability, that is a fact.

5.) 14 Apr 2013
Well yes I'd rather have him, but honestly I'd rather have a quality midfielder or two than a prominent striker.

6.) 14 Apr 2013
We don't need strikers, unless we are going to sell some. Atm we are desperate for ball retention in midfield and more of a cutting edge in chance creation. RVP has had little to no service recently this needs to change.

7.) 14 Apr 2013
Lewandowski would shine at United. Buying Falcao will be a mistake, over 40 million to make little change to our attack?

Would rather have Lewy and a Midfielder.

Ruud 100% agree. We are already the league top scorers and adding 2 world class mid field players will both increase that scoring and our overall control of the games. If you want youth Strootman + Alcantara ( my personal choices ) but proven Arturo Vidal ( good luck getting him from Juve) and Ronaldo ( I can dream surely ).

Jane is spot on. Lewy and top class midfielder would be better use of same cash but if money were no object Falcao would be a must buy. Wherever he goes he will strengthen their attack massively. Would hate to see him at Citeh or Chelski for sure.

The fact we've been linked with strikers repeatedly means our forward line will change in 1314. I still think Rooney is on his way personally but the change could equally as plausibly be Hernandez moving to get regular first team football in a decent side.

I hope to God, Rooney is getting moved on - 250k & can't find a pass within 5/10 yards - his link up play is appalling! If he's in the world class category i'm digging my boots out!

11.) 14 Apr 2013
If money were no object i'd rather see Ronaldo or Bale than Falcao along with two cm's. We haven't bought a proper cm since Hargreaves

12.) 14 Apr 2013
I think the reason SAF is not buying a cm is because he wants Rooney to move back into central midfield. A good move IMO, Scholes had exactly the same career path.
In that case we will buy a number 9 and get RVP to move back to 10 or a wide forward. Lewy can play very well as a wide forward, he doesn't though simply because they have Reus, he would be great as a wide forward.

Dan, sorry for being a negative Norman, but Rooney could never orchestrate play how Scholesy could. Never. And I don't mean to lambast Wayne, but I think his performances have been nothing short of woeful. Bring back the snarling ball of aggression who would chase and harry, score wonder goals and would wear his heart on his sleeve. Not this ineffective passenger. A rejuvanated Rooney is worth his weight in gold yet, I think, his appetite has subsided.

14.) 14 Apr 2013
Noname, I don't think anybody bar Xavi and Pirlo can do what Scholes can do, it would be unfair to expect that of him. But, he has the awareness and passing range to be a very good CM, as good as most on the market. He has been poor this season no doubt, I think RVP arriving has stolen some of his thunder, his reaction next season (presuming he will still be here) will be key to his future. This has been on the cards for a while, I think its the reason SAF hasn't brought in another midfielder.

15.) 14 Apr 2013
Dan, you make a fair point & I admire your optimism - & Rooney got MotM too, yet I get the impression he, himself needs a new challenge. His distance passing is top drawer, it's the short, sharp passing that let's him down. If there is a shortfall in the market, it shouldn't be to the detriment of Rooneys game.
If RvP has stolen his mojo, then Jeez, meet the challenge head on. Don't want to see Rooney leave, I want him to come back!

16.) 14 Apr 2013
Noname, I do admit Rooney may move on, for whatever reason he seems to lack motivatio. But, I think he would make a top CM, perhaps not as good as Scholes or Xavi but I think he could get very close to that. Carick is an ideal partner for him as well. Given a year or 2 I think they could match any midfield partnership out there other than Xavi/Iniesta. Hopefully Rooney stays.

Forgot to add. Rooney is losing his pace rapidly, he's not technically fluid enough to be an AM. A lot of people see his assist rate and think he would make a good AM but this is just false. He needs to be a number 9 or a CM IMO and with RVP here now then I think he has to be a CM. I also think that was SAFs thought at the beginning of the season with Rooney starting most matches in CM, but, for whatever reason he went to playing as a striker again.

Rooney may make a good CM at a lower table team but not at a team that wants to challenge in the CL.

We don't need a striker for 50 Million. We need midfielders who can hold the ball, create for the strikers, be a threat to defenses and chip in with some goals. We need to replace Scholes, Giggs, Nani, Young now. We also need to CM who can break up opponent attacking plays.

This summer we need to improve the midfield.

19.) 15 Apr 2013
We don't need strikers, unless we sell Chico and Danny plays out wide. We need two top midfielders, a ball winning athletic sort - Wanyama would be my choice. We also need some pace and guile -Gotze or Ericsen would be my choice there.
