The everton community is in an aproar over this as rm publicly stated that the pair was valued at 50m, 20 for Baines and 30 for felli. Whether you lot agree or not that was the price that everton set and to offer nearly half of that is just ridiculous.

1.) 19 Aug 2013
If that's the case - Everton will have Fellaini and Baines in their team for the rest of their careers - thanks but no thanks

2.) 19 Aug 2013
50 million?! That is the joke. If Fellaini is worth 30 what is Rooney worth? RM is smoking crack if he thinks Everton will get that. They'll hassle for a move & We'll get them for 35 max.

3.) 19 Aug 2013
£50m? That is more ridiculous than £25m to be honest with you. £30m should be their value, £12m for Baines £18m for the big wig.

Ozwald

4.) 19 Aug 2013
Fellaini & Baines are worth £20m-£22m and £15m-£17m respectively.

5.) 19 Aug 2013
They don't want to lose two of their star performers, what do you expect? Its the same reason Andy Carrol was sold for £35 million by Newcastle. They had no intention of selling their star performer so put a ridiculous price tag on him. They just got lucky that Liverpool were desperate enough to pay the £35 million for him.

6.) 19 Aug 2013
The Evertob statement does not mention the players by name, is it possible one of the players was Barkley, and that is why the amount was so low? {Ed004's Note - Id love it to be Barkley and Baines}

7.) 19 Aug 2013
That's 35 - 39 then not 28

8.) 19 Aug 2013
Why should Everton value them at £30m? They'll value them at whatever they want. Or do Utd dictate that too as they do most anything else? We'll value them at their true worth, Baines £18, Fellaini £23m.

9.) 19 Aug 2013
I can understand why Everton are upset tbh! When I read it on tv sport I wasn't one bit surprised they rejected it.

10.) 19 Aug 2013
So we go straight in with a £35m/£39m bid and it gets rejected.

Then what?

11.) 19 Aug 2013
Everton fan hear why offer that much baines is best left back in the league he created more chances than anyone at peak of his career today's market 20m and fellaini his contract is till 2016 so no problems there unlike Rooney if you don't sell this season his value drops and then walks at end of contract he ain't happy and don't blame him he is the most important player you have that's why value of fellaini is up near 25-30m why not keep hold next year probably be worth more with World Cup as well by the way keep your hands of Barkley and again in a year or 2 remember the name George Green

12.) 19 Aug 2013
I agree with the comments that with them not been mentioned one of the two players could easily be Barkley. But ed if it was Barkley and baines would you not expect 28m to be enough.

I think if Barkley was one of the two it would be Barkley and fellani as it looks like DM is to take another risk keeping evra

13.) 19 Aug 2013
I reckon the money we offered was far too much.I think desparation has sunk in for us to even think of going for Feilaini.he is not worth 25m or even near it, I wouldn't even give 8m for him, he's not world class and he's not going to set the world a light or have real or bayern quaking in there boots now is he!if he is what the future of utd is settling for, i'd be extremly worried!Baines on the other hand I'd give 15-18m for him.

14.) 19 Aug 2013
They'll want to be with moyes and give them a week and both will hand in transfer requests.

villalad83

15.) 19 Aug 2013
I think the fee will end up at 35m with add ons up to 42m Everton know they have two top players and we know they want United so think its going to happen next week to give Everton time to replace them. Katef

16.) 19 Aug 2013
Every player, at every club, has a price at which they would sell.

Of course Everton are trying to raise the price as much as possible and why not?

But ultimately if United want the players, and they want to come to United it will happen.

If they really want to come hand in a transfer request.

17.) 19 Aug 2013
I think everton fans are getting their knickers in a twist before actually stopping and thinking as to why that was our opening offer, most reasons which have been covered by syd, if we offered 35-40m as a 1st offer everton would be laughing, no matter what they say there's no way they are worth more than 40m combined, there's plenty of other options if they do want more however there's no way kenwright would reject 40m imo.

18.) 19 Aug 2013
50mil are they mad, why are we even going for these players, fellaini looked totally lost playing the passing game at Norwich on Saturday. while baines is better than evra, I don't think he is that good.

19.) 19 Aug 2013
It's not ridiculous mate, just business, get over it!

20.) 19 Aug 2013
£50 mil for both is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen I would be surprised if we went over £35 and that would be good money for Everton.

21.) 19 Aug 2013
They can jump off a bridge for all I care they are not worth what rm is saying and he is talking absolute rubbish. I would not go higher than 34/35 mill for both and if we don't get it done keep the money and spend it on draxler verrati next summer and go with what we have for this year.

22.) 19 Aug 2013
To the no name post slagging Fellaini you know nothing about football, Baines is a very good left back but is nearly 29 anything over 15m is a lot even for maybe the best left back in the country. Fellaini on the other hand is 25m+ all day long Everton shelled out 15m for him and he is much better now and I bet if you asked Real or Bayern or any other teams midfield if they gave an honest answer about going up against the big fella they would say they would rather not he is big strong puts a foot in and the head and elbow this is not a game of tickling you know he is just what we need some one to rough things up and other teams will hate playing him that is for sure. Katef

23.) 19 Aug 2013
Baines signed for 5m. Fellaini 15m. 28m offered. Another way to look at it is perhaps if everton had shown some ambition this summer with their signings instead of signing half of wigan then these lads might not be so easy to prise away.

24.) 19 Aug 2013
Have to feel for Everton, they won't have time to replace them. I'd like us to make new signings but Baines and Fellaini aren't my first choice. I'd rather have Barkley for a start.

Dan

25.) 19 Aug 2013
I didn't realise a manc pound was worth double a scouse pound? £40m minimum, £25m Fellaini £15m Baines.
1 Evertonian is worth a million manc's

26.) 19 Aug 2013
Man UTD knew that Everton value the pair at 40 Mil. UTd have a choice, pay 40 mil or look else where.
I don't like paying 1.35 for a bottle of coke at my local shop, so I don't buy it. Or should I go in and offer them 65p?

27.) 19 Aug 2013
Barkley. Baines. Rooney. Scousers taking over. How about bringing through some of your own youth. oh no moyes won't do that will you dithering dave. {Ed004's Note - There are tonnes of English players in our squad. It's not as if you made Baines as you bought him from Everon. What would you call Welbeck and Cleverley how about Gibson he's currently one of your best players and he struggled to get a game here}

28.) 19 Aug 2013
Cleverley and Welbeck are both rubbish. Wouldn't get near the Everton squad. Same as Carrick he's a total crab too, can only pass sideways and backwards. My dog could have a high pass completion passing 2 yards and she has arthritis. Guess that's why moyes is coveting Fellaini because he knows he's lacking real quality.

29.) 19 Aug 2013
Everton say 50 million, we offer 28million. Compromise price 24 million on Fellaini and 15 million on Baines = 39 million, call it 40 million we meet them half way. They double their original outlay, we get 2 of the 3 players we need. Maybe we should offer them 32 million and Cleverley or Anderson there choice. I doubt they would want either of our cast off though as Martinez want 1 or 2 of his Wigan old boys, just like DM wants a couple of his old boys.
Mik

30.) 19 Aug 2013
I'm not a massive fan but Fellani is better than what we have and would get in the starting eleven. The reason why City, Chelsea, Madrid, Barca and Bayern etc didn't bid was because they are all ok in that department. We simply aren't! If we got Fellani plus a world class centre midfielder then you'd all be happy! Have patience! It
Was interesting to see Mata not get in the first 11 yesterday. Can't see them selling him but food for thought if that's Chelsea's first 11 (atm). Chelsea are well stocked in MF but need a forward. We need a midfielder. Would
People swap accept Rooney for Mata.
Forget the price etc. I'm interested in would people be happy with us getting Mata but they get Rooney?

Adz

31.) 19 Aug 2013
Wasnt Fellanis buy out £23 million? No takers at that so how is he worth more? Guys on MUTV talking a lot of sense. Baines would have no resale value also if signs 4 year deal. I think what was offered was fair is not a little high!
Mac

32.) 19 Aug 2013
The reason EFC fans are annoyed is not just the value attributed for the best performing left back in Europe and Fellani, but is the way that after years of chastising others for the way they've approached Everton for players. Moyes (we all know it's not him that controls the bid, but it's hard to see the wood through the trees when there's an obvious person to blame) has just gone and done exactly the same.

In terms of Martinez raiding Wigan. he bought one Wigan player by meeting the buy out clause (Kone), Alcaraz was without a club, and Joel was from Spain. So even though EFC bought player(s) from his old club, they did it the way it's meant to be done, not by being insulting and trying to unsettle players.

33.) 20 Aug 2013
Katef, I think you have a very narrow mind on Feilaini, and I feel you should question your own footballing expertise because Feilaini maybe strong, but the guy his very sloppy in possession of the ball.he is not the type of player whom is going to win the ball and play technical football!he is not a great tackler either, fouls and gives away more free kicks because of his awkwardness.he is not exactly quick either, carrick is quicker and he's slow.I realy don't think Fellaini is the type of player utd need.he is a target man whom wins headers and bundles people over with elbows.barca, real, bayern wouldn't be scared of him they would just play the ball around him.the only threat Feilaini has is in the air.hes not worth a bid in my eyes leave him where he is!Sure we might as well buy Andy Carroll and put him in midfield!i am sorry but this is my opinion and I'm afraid we are looking disparate,

34.) 20 Aug 2013
And don't forget, Feilaini or baines never played or has any experience in the champions league.

35.) 20 Aug 2013
Villalad, there probably the only two players that do want to come to Moyes, it's quite sad to be honest!

36.) 20 Aug 2013
Is this the same fellaini that destroyed us last season we could not play against him that was a fact and if you fans think cleverly carrick or fletcher are better than fellaini your naive if fellaini was ours we would not sell for that price yes he is different but in a good way have you seen his stats how much ground he covers and how many times he wins the ball back personally think he is the toughest midfielder in the game and he can play different roles and score goals

37.) 20 Aug 2013
ED 04 Baines was bought from the Everton nursery club Wigan by DM .and for your info 6 Everton under 20' s were in the latest squad . {Ed004's Note - I made a mistake I meant Wigan just typing quickly. That does not impress me at all as united could pick any 6 from their academy and throw them on the bench it does not show how good they are. 3 players who came through the united academy started the game against very strong opposition away from home in which we won 4-1 that sounds a bit better}
