The Everton Ribeiro and Wesley Sneijder rumours seem to be intensifying. Ribeiro to replace Young and Sneijder to replace Anderson? Not bad business as both are likely to be far better than the two they are replacing.

If we could get them in on the same wages then that'd be good for us. A deal for Ribeiro shouldn't cost much, Sneijder might be a bit pointless as Rooney and Kagawa are better options in the same position.

If we can get a motivated Sneijder keen to prove he can still cut it at one of Europes elite clubs then great, he'd be a shrewd signing and I think he'd be good as part of a midfield 3.

Don't know a great deal about Everton Ribero but you had me at replace Young!

Sneijder does look a bit unmotivated playing for galatasary but who can blame him? I think he's got undoubted skill and technique I think he could regain form of his Inter days but only concern would be he does suffer niggling little injuries quite often. Must be a dutch thing.

Sneijder not the player he was. Herrera better option.

I think the big thing is that Sneijder has it in his game to sit deeper unlike Rooney or Kagawa who are not as effective from deep. Sneijder is at an age where I would imagine he wants one last challenge, also there have been reports where he is willing to drop his wage demands. He's on a reporte 4.4 million per year, I would imagine that Young is on that roughly. I think he could save our season if he is as motivated as I am hoping.

It's not so much that Rooney and Kagz aren't effective from a deeper position because you often see them dropping deep to get the game going if the tempo is slow just like what we saw against Shakter last night. It's the fact that they aren't that defensive and would leave us a bit open on the counter. Sneijder's set pieces would be very much welcomed though.

Ashley Youngs corners were once again dreadful, while they improved with Rooney when Young went off you want both RvP and Rooney in the box for a corner not taking them.

Sneijder can receive and turn under pressure, as well as shoot from distance. Rooney is erratic when he does attempt to turn, and Kagawa has not shown a powerful shot yet.

I am not really for Sneijder as he is a luxury player who does not want to defend. I think we need a CM with technical ability and an engine to cover some ground.
