According to ESPN, Chelsea and MU sources say there are talks currently taking place in London.

Also MU have made contact regarding Vidal and are open to doing a deal there too.

Many including myself would prefer a Vidal over a Mata, but both would be fantastic.

I don't think anyone will get excited until they are both in a MU shirt, but thought it was worth posting.

{Ed004's Note - I couldn't think of a better window than Vidal and Mata, possibly Coentrao on loan. What a boost that would be for fans and the squad. Would also mean not as many changes in the summer but I've become accustomed to being let down window after window so I can't see that many changes}

Please source your information properly! I read this as if the Vidal information was also from ESPN but there is no mention of United making contact with Juventus anywhere on the ESPN site.

If there was a choice of keeping Rooney and signing no one

OR

Signing Mata and Reus now and keeping Rooney til the summer.

I would choose the latter, BUT I would rather keep all three ;)

This is certainly exciting news, and yes I would say that is Moyes vision with Coentrao at left back since he has failed to get Baines. Rooney may need replacing in the summer but I think that could be why Fergie himself has contacted Blanc about Cavani.

Perhaps the after summer completed vision could be.

I am still assuming that Rooney will be sold as he I can't see him signing a new deal and I am very happy to see him linked with a move to Madrid. That would be ideal for us.

Ed, if Rooney goes then I think Cavani is more important to get than Reus. Although a part exchange deal for Reus with Kagawa is very desirable. I can't help but think though that Cavani would be brilliant off of the right for us, Januzaj left and move Mata centrally when Rooney goes. Apparently SAF has spoken to Blanc about the possibility so we will have to wait and see I guess. Fellaini and Vidal though is definitely what the manager is going for.

Miguel Delaney is pretty good redseven, like the editor he can only show where there is interest, it's then up to the clubs and player to sort the rest.

We now have two separate good sources saying we are interested in Mata & Vidal, three good sources if you include ssn. let's hope we pay over the odds.

Isn't it frustrating. I remember a few years ago we were talking about signing the Chilean contingent of Vidal, Sanchez, and Isla. I also believe the fees at the time were being quoted as around 30-35m for all 3. Now we would be lucky to get 2/3 of those for that price each with Isla being the odd one out but still a 10-15m player.

Anyway a window of Vidal/Gundogan and a more creative player would be great IMO.
