Ed002, are MU working on just Shaw at Southampton or are we also looking to sign Lallana or Chambers too? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - As I have said repeatedly Syd, there is no agreement between Southampton and Manchester United over Shaw. Manchester United would like Shaw but ... (I don't need to explain again). Lallana seems like speculation and I am not aware of Manchester United interest in Chambers.}

1.) 25 Apr 2014
Don't think Lallana is required. We need to be targeting better.

2.) 25 Apr 2014
There can be no agreement with Saints until some contact has been made-and there has been NONE from MU (see Press Statement from Saints today.)

Sorry Syd, as I have stated before (helpfully) DYOR because the media are taking the Mick with Saints now that Cortese has left-who would simply have banned them from St. Marys and any information.

As you seem so keen on pure speculation let me suggest that if and when Shaw moves on it will be to Real! My speculation has no more basis than that of The Mail etc. but there is a lot more logic to it if you give it some thought.

You can always enjoy Shaw playing in red on May 11th-just make certain your lot avoid the grey!

3.) 25 Apr 2014
St Martin, we know there has been enquiries made. So he is telling porkies.

4.) 25 Apr 2014
St Martin

You are a minnow club and a feeder club Mate. If they are good to play for a bigger club they will go not just shaw but everyone of them.

5.) 25 Apr 2014
Oh dear Sydney! When the guy says to the media he is giving them the TRUTH and he will take NO QUESTIONS, what do you think is behind those phrases? As I have said, I am trying to give you some information and all you want to do is accept speculation-and that is the polite term. As for GCU, I suppose he must be accurate because of course we won't make top 4 this season, we won't be in CL next season, we will lose the backbone of our team in the summer, we struggle to compete with minnow teams on the field and we have a huge debt! Oh sorry, I was looking at the wrong club stats. LOL
I would suggest when you sort your club out arrogance is acceptable, until then it just loses any value.

6.) 25 Apr 2014
The new le tissier could have been great

7.) 25 Apr 2014
St Martin, do you seriously believe that MU and Southampton have not been negotiating? That MU have not even enquired? You aren't that naive are you?

8.) 25 Apr 2014
St Martin

It appears that your obviously worried your losing Shaw to united due to the fact your on the united site trying to defend him!

Southampton are obviously resigned to the sale of Shaw as they have given Us and Chelsea a figure rather than a not for sale statement!

9.) 25 Apr 2014
Sydney - St Martin does have a point. To this day we have not had a single credible source come from either or a neutral camp to suggest they were in negotiations, nothing concrete. We have no proof of enquiries or negotiations other then here-say and speculation. This is the first time a credible verifiable source has come out and spoken on the matter and this is the one you dismiss? It's absurd. We all know there is interest there, when Moyes and Neville went to go and watch Shaw that proved that, but any more then that we have no proof of.

Secondly GCU - that nonsense is why everyone hates us Utd fans. Cut that stuff out you're making us all look bad.

10.) 25 Apr 2014
Raiden, that is simply not true. The editor has confirmed that there have been talks, just no agreement.

11.) 25 Apr 2014
Whether Shaw comes in or not GCU that was arrogant and uncalled for, behave yourself man.

12.) 25 Apr 2014
The evidence provided by Les Reed, with considerations to his motivations, is more credible then the Eds (no disrespect). The Eds, by nature of their relative anonymity and the fact they do not provide evidence, though are acknowledged to have keen insight, are less credible, though more credible then most other non-official sources. On this front Les Reed as a source supercedes the Eds, therefore if the two make contradicting statements, we are to assume one is more accurate then the other for whatever reasons; taking into account motivation for such statements as well as the prospect of deliberate or accidental misinformation from both sides.

To cut a long story short Les Reed is more believable then the Eds. See this is the difference between you and I, I feel, that I hope for a conclusion but accept the evidence given, whereas you have already decided upon the conclusion and now merely seek the evidence to fit, regardless of the evidence to your opposition.

13.) 25 Apr 2014
Raiden, Reed's motivation is blatantly obvious. He is trying to keep a lid on fan's emotions by dispelling rumours of a fire sale. An interview like this is purposely released to alleviate fan pressure against the club. Personally I think he's dug himself a hole. If Shaw is sold in the next couple of months, then Southampton fans are not going to believe a word this bloke says. Just like I don't now.

14.) 25 Apr 2014
Well that is obvious. Reeds motivations are likely two fold; one to assure fans they will be keeping they're best players, no coincidence that this comes with the recent release of their season ticket prices. Second to assure Pochettino that his best players will not be sold from under him. A possible third would be too stem the constant speculation around players which might be unsettling them, but from the evidence on the saints side their is nothing to suggest anyone is unsettled.

Equally though, considering his motivations, would this not further mean that they do not want to sell? If a club does not want to sell and a player does not want to leave the transfer will not occur. Reed and Pochettino have stated the club do not want to sell. Shaw has not stated he wants t leave, and has in fact in all his interview repeatedly stated his continued happiness at his club.

In short there is nothing to suggest Reed is lying, in of itself or in the overarching aspects of his character. Your presumption that he is lying is literally out of thin air. This belongs more in the conspiracy section.

Perhaps Shaw will move. The transfer window hasn't even started yet and it's a long window. Evidence at this exact moment suggest he stays for the forthcoming future, and it distinctly weighs against the idea that a transfer is already part-way negotiated. Just because you choose to believe the whispers in your ear and the speculation of know-nothing journalists does not mean your right. We both have access to the same information, just we are perceiving it differently. And you are perceiving the information with such horrendous bias, so little objectivity that it is really hard to take any of your arguments seriously. No disrespect intended of course.

15.) 25 Apr 2014
On Monday good media sources confirmed that Moyes will be sacked within 24 hours. The next morning Moyes was sacked. Is it these "know-nothing" journalists you are referring to?

16.) 26 Apr 2014
Sorry but only an person would join a club that hasn't got a manager!
Why would you take such a gamble.
As I have said before, being who the manager is influences players. Hence why last year we signed no big name players, would you play for Moyes? What would you gain by playing for him?

17.) 26 Apr 2014
Melwing, that's not what my point is. Shaw may join, he may not join, but talks have taken place. That is all I am saying. I fully understand now why the editor is reluctant to share things with this site and I am not going to bother him with anymore questions regarding Shaw.

18.) 26 Apr 2014
Not really Melwing, managers come and go at clubs and players don't get a say in the matter. If someone wants to join a big club and get an opportunity to do so, do you really think the manager makes much difference when you've recently just witnessed how fast they come and go if they don't do their job properly. Only when a player has more than one offer the manager might then have an influence.

19.) 26 Apr 2014
Like I said when we first got Moyes, no big player is going to want to sign with him.
Common sense would say I'm going to play for a manger who is going to drive a team to win and also help develop me as a player.
Do you also think RVP or Kagawa would had joined if they knew SAF was leaving or if Moyes came the year before, VERY much doubt it.
If you think not having a particular manager doesn't influence a players decision then obviously you seem to not know a lot about football.

20.) 28 Apr 2014
GCU, very embarrassing to say you support the same club as me, St Martin this person does not represent most fans of Manchester United football club, Southampton are of course a great club with tradition and history, enjoy the rest of your season.
