Afternoon everyone

Just want to share my opinion on Van gaal being given the "green light" to break the world record transfer fee! Before we all get excited let's be realistic. The only players whom would do so are the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, bale etc. whom have all just signed new contracts or recently moved to their respected clubs. IMO I believe that it is just ed Woodward flexing our financial muscle after speculation that we just didn't haven the money to do so! The highest we will bid I think is €60 euro for Vidal! N that's if that even happens which I have on good authority that we will do so! Just a quick opinion post for you all to think about.

If Vidal is €60 then I'll buy him. :-D

There are no available players to break the world transfer record but I am very confident that we will break our own record (not by much, £40m ish) for Vidal, who I think a deal is completed for but is being delayed until early August. Maybe that's what Ed was hinting at.

Ed is just hyping up the club to get some more sponsors and maybe even some players on board

60 Euro for Vidal :O Surely he will cost more!

4.) 23 Jul 2014
I don't think he is referring to buying a £100 million player. He is on about spending in excess of £150, £200 million which would be a record in terms of expenditure over one window.

I know it might seem completely outlandish but shocking transfers like Messi to United can happen in football.

He seems disillusioned at Barca and the arrivals of other stars like Neymar and Suarez could steal his limelight and cause animosity.

Time for a fresh challenge?
Hoe about trying the Premier League and joining Van Gaal's exciting new revolution at a club on a par with Barca, if not even bigger.
Van Gaal also has Barca connections and can speak Spanish. With a sizable Spanish-speaking contingent at United, they would help him to settle.

I haven't even mentioned the commercial appeal of Adidas yet!
He would be the perfect poster boy to front their ground-breaking new deal.
World record kit deal with the world record transfer = a match made in heaven.

To coin their famous slogan: "Impossible is nothing"

Dont think there is anyone available but do think that the figures being quoted regarding vidal and di maria are higher than if man utd were not NEEDING quality to get back to winning ways. This is starting to look a bit like last summers window although we have got 2 signings in the bag but I think the clubs think they can hold us to ransom. Would like to see de vries, de jong, possibly vlaar if a deal could be done(maybe young back to villa) get rid of some of the deadwood and see what happens in january

I think Messi is on his way down Lutzy - Kaka style. Once that yard that sets you apart goes, it hinders so many other facets of your game.

I'd honestly rather Vidal than Messi given the choice at the moment.

Beast, sadly I think you could be right about Messi.
Looks like there could be a deeper issue to explain his demeanour on the pitch these days, is he burnt out?

Hes a bit of a knob really stating the fact moneys no object, all prices now double

Messi hasn't been that good for a couple of years now. he struggles massively without Xavi and Iniesta who themselves are massively on the decline.
plus could you see Messi really playing at places suc as QPR, or Stoke, or West Brom
