Ok, so this is the usual "a friend of a friend" type rumours & quite honestly is rehashing the same tired track we've heard enough so far, but a lad in my office claims he has a 'source' that's certain Kane will be joining us once RVP's off the books. I wouldn't hang my hat on it but can any of the eds give some insight?

It's actually a rather concerning time with our options currently limited to Rooney and Wilson. Harry Kane would be a decent option but Levy will hike the price for what is, despite last season, still an unproven player. Benzema should be on the potentials list but that means yet again negotiating with Real Madrid. Gonzalo Higuain is awful. Let's hope they leave that well alone. I don't rate Cavani either and Sakho?! Please. No. If they were going to take a risk I'd rather bring in Richairo Zivkovic from Ajax.

Nervous times. No doubt there's a marquee signing in the wings, it's just a question of who it is, what position they play and what, realistically, they offer the team.
