Looks like Di Maria has been sold. Interesting few weeks ahead of us as our net spend now seems very little and should still have a considerable budget for additional signings if they are available.

As I said on the banter page, I think we should keep our hands in our pocket and let the next class take hold of the prem.

What a showing tonight and I always get more excited about the youth coming through than a new signing.

Save the money for Ramos! And Kane next summer if he continues on from last season.

I think all the lads out there tonight could play the majority of our games next season and not only not look out of place, they could make a real impact. Let's put faith in them it will only let them grow more as players

But if they fail to live up to expectations in the premier league who get's the bullet from fans and the press? The manager. And if the worst would happen(not getting a top 4 finish) people would start asking questions about why we didn't sign a striker or a Di Maria replacement.

If Pedro comes in he will take the season to get use to the brutality of the Prem.
we have enough to get us through, we risk losing top talent again if we keep buying.

Pogba.

You can't judge players on a pre-season friendly. Our defence struggled first half, and that was without Messi on the pitch. Judging our second XI versus Barcelona's second XI is meaningless - it's your best team that wins you things.

We still clearly need a centre-back and if ADM goes we'll be short wide up front. I'd also worry about cover for Rooney. There's work to be done yet.

I don't know many defences that wouldn't struggle against suarez. Especially as we were playing jones and blind at cb who won't be our first choice partnership.

RedAndy - I agree on one level, but they weren't even close. And, at the moment, at worst, they're the first change choices behind Smalling and Rojo. And I don't rate Rojo as anything more than a back-up, to be honest - I don't think he'd have improved the performance.

And, if we want to compete at the top table, we have to do much, much better against the likes of Suarez.
