LVG to sign a new contract, I know a few on here who'd be delighted with that, were it to happen.

{Ed025's Note - i know a lot who would not brendan..

Surely not ed? I'm sure Beast, and the like, would be delighted!

I hope not. I'm not saying I want LVG sacked or anything but 3 years is enough. His role was to get us back in the CL and potentially challenge for trophies and by the end of next season I feel he will have accomplished that but alluding to a post Shappy wrote a couple of weeks ago, he has got rid of players who were perhaps not good enough and lowered the average age which means we might well have a bright future after his tenure. While we may have a bright future following some of the things LVG has done, he shouldn't be the one to manage us following the end of next season.

{Ed025's Note - its very easy to lower average age stats Rj...you just buy 2 young untried forwards for squillions of pounds mate..

I just can't see it, surely we can't be this incompetent. It makes me wonder if the decision makers watch the games.

Well that's true Ed but he's looked to have a team where the majority of our squad are mid to late twenties and shipped out many players who most would say were not of the quality required. Look at Nani, Anderson, Cleverley, RVP, Rafael, Lindegaard, Evans etc. He's far from my ideal manager and he's made some daft decisions but I think he's done well in getting rid of players who shouldn't have even been there when he took over.

{Ed025's Note - he has done well in that department Rj, but i still dont feel hes the right man long term mate..

I hope it happens personally.

He's always been pretty vocal that he was going to retire after this contract - I don't think he'll change his mind.

Ed it won't be long term he's just here to sort the mess out so the next chap has easier job

Common 025, LVG is much better than Moyes. He knows the game inside out and doesn't look like a lost little boy that's out of his depth. His knack of upsetting and falling out with players is a little worrying, but aside from that I think he was and still is exactly what we need.

{Ed025's Note - i think he may be a short term answer prodigal, seems a bit set in his ways to me mate and not everyones cup of tea..

May be the decision makers think that Giggs needs more time as someone's deputy. May be even Giggs was in favour of it.

I think giggs needs to manage a smaller club before we ever consider him for the utd job.
