The tabloids have been running the Jose to United story for a number of months, there surely has to be something in it. Gianluca Di Marzio (really reliable), director of Inter Milan have said he's definitely coming to United, just can't see it not happening now.

Surely the club won't put up with this dire football for another season, will lose money from a decrease in ticket sales, missing out on CL will have huge financial implications at the club, possibilities of losing club sponsors. Jose guarantees success, trophies, will help repair the 'brand' of club in terms on having one of the best managers in the world at the club again, and personally i think he genuinely is the only manager in the world that can compete with Guardiola, i mean overtaking THAT barcelona team with Madrid wasnt an easy job by any means but he literally just dimissed Barcelona in the league in the 11/ 12 season and made Pep run off to the other side of the continent.

Passing up on him when he's willing to come would literally put us off the scene in terms of trophies for the next 2/ 3 seasons, Liverpool seem rejuvenated under Klopp, Pep at City, Conte at Chelsea, Tottenham have a wonderful young team and yet we'll see a dutch person sitting in the bloody dugout for 90 minutes!

Honestly I don't even think I'm being naive but no matter how bad we play we will also be near full capacity for weekend games imo.

After this season if wooden top is still in charge i think even the die hard united fans will think about renewing tickets as redman said it is a lot easy now to renew i do not no what is worse watching united or watching paint dry.

The club tried a subtle prompt by pretending there is a season ticket waiting list. I hope as many as possible wait to renew putting the club under pressure. Protest is needed yet part of the problem is that many ST holders are not the protesting type, many are old and just pay up because it's that old chestnut the United way not to protest. We cannot have LVG or Giggs as manager next season, it would send us into free fall. LVG who people think has championed youth, well whilst Rojo has been making a mess at LB where has young CBJ been? Hardly trusted him has he? Time for change and if Woodward ignores it, it's time for him to go too.

There's no waiting list as you say Red Man. I was down on the list for another ticket as keen to get one for my Dad, and have been called already hub the club asking if I want it. I declined. If any more come up in the Stretford End then I may reconsider.

Previously they waited to see who renews by closing day and then start marketing for buyers. A word of caution, if Mourinho is announced there may well suddenly be a waiting list!

True! I share mine with my Dad, and was going to get a second. However, I go to more aways than homes so quite happy to leave it at that and not get another one. Got my ticket for Tuesday, very excited about that!

Today it's been reported that the Man Utd ticket office has been swamped by applications for season tickets for next season. If it's true then LVG may well be safe. If it's just a cynical marketing sales pitch by the club it shows how desperate they are. Who knows own the Truth? If in fact that there are lots of people applying in the belief Jose will be in charge how ironic it would be if they keep LVG in a job.

Most likely is a sales pitch by the club and right now we are desperate, i mean why on earth would there be a 'swamp' for season tickets when nothing has changed, still playing boring football and an incredible amount of uncertainty remains. Season ticket application has been extended to the 1st of June reason being that we will have Jose in by then.

As I said, there are already currently season tickets available even before the renewal date in some decent areas of the stadium, in particular the East Stand and Sir Alex stand. After renewal date, I'd bet there will be more. What is good is that if you've always wanted one, now is the time to get one before they get bought when we either (a) improve or (b) appoint a new manager.

Whatever the football is like Utd are in transition, win our last 2 games and we achieve CL with the FA cup as the cherry on the cake, obviously with the way we play its a big if, but surely anyone would class that as a sucess.

My worry is that we win the two games and celebrate 4th like it is a trophy. Our transition will be complete, we have become Arsenal, the very thing we have laughed about. I want us to win the two games but I do not want to see wild celebrations about finishing 4th. I think West Ham away could be very difficult so nothing is guaranteed.

Red Man,

I agree about no wild celebrations at finishing 4th, but it would be some end to the season to knock City (who last week were in a Champions League semi final remember and are getting 'the greatest manager in the world' to complete their master plan and become the biggest club in the world) into the Europa League wouldn't it?

That would be a some funny scenario and put a smile on my face. Having LVG for another year kills that smile quickly though.

I can see how the club will have to let him see out his last year if we get 4th and win the FA cup. Unfortunately I don't trust his transfer business in the summer and i think the next manager will be stuck with a bunch of players he does not want.

I would be very happy to knock City into 5th and see Pep come in on that basis, however I am very concerned if LVG is retained. Tonight we should know as only a win is good enough.
