Well done to Marcus Rashford for making the provisional England squad.

Hopefully he gets some experience from this and comes back as a better player.

DW

They should have made the change in December and I firmly believe if they had we would now be comfortably in the top four. Once they didn't do that they were unlikely to say anything whilst there is something to play for. When SAF announced his retirement the first time it had an adverse effect and whilst there is denial over it there has been an impact at City from the Pep news. For me it needed leadership and decisiveness in December, we didn't get it, so have appeared as a rudderless ship since then.

The silence from the club probably tells us more. If they keep LVG on it will damage the club's playing prowess and image and I can't imagine the sponsors will be too happy, so for me I think there will be a change after the cup final. My worry is the choice of replacement, I hope they make a logical football decision not an emotional one. Three years and counting, with the present set up we have no chance of winning the league in the next 2 seasons and suddenly we will be building a mentality like we had for 26 years. Therefore right now we need a proven winner who could win the league. Like him or not when a manager of Mourinho's quality is available it would be utter madness to ignore him.

I agree Redman. It is time for a change. Many don't approve of mou. I can understand that. However i don't see any better alternatives in terms of experience and with a better track record of winning.
He is the right man at the right time imo.
If we are stuck with Rooney he is the only man that I think could get another burst from him.
I'm hoping He will be appointed if not then i hope have a better plan than letting lvg see our his contracy.

Fully agree. I think Mourhino is ideal for now as we find ourselves. Will definitely turn the team around and play to he strengths of the squad rather than trying to squeeze them into a preconceived tactical corset. I believe he will strengthen the squad prudently and not necessarily with Marquee signings.
Beyond two years, I take on board worries voiced elsewhere, and to a degree share them. Jose seems to be really wanting this job, and if successful, I think he will do everything in his power to keep it.
We also need to remember That SAF was no Angel when it came to the media.

In my opinion it has to be mourinho . But I also get the feeling that Woodward is going to shaft us up the ring. Himself and van gaal seem to have a solid relationship. And which club these days do what the fans demand, I hope palace turn us over in the FA cup and I say that because, Than hopefully van gaal won't have a leg to stand on and he has to go.
Mour for me.

Just a bit concerning that mourinho, s track record with young players, I admit this boring way ov playing can't carry on but wonder if a giggss scholes, g Neville partnership could work to get excitment back at our club, as good as mourinho is he never really plays attacking football.

Newcastle played very attacking football this season especially under mclaren, gung ho style. That what you want then red locks?

Has it done Leicester any harm either? That's how we use to play under fergie, a top cb like varane, a top right sided winger- forward and a box to box midfielder with a fresh approach is what I would like riddlet026 and to keep the young lads in the team.

So did Leicester? And we used to as well, isn't that what you would like to see again riddlet026.

Firstly, in relation to Mourinho and his track record with young players, do you think LVG would have picked the youngsters he has this season if we hadn't had injuries? No, he wouldn't have. Rashford has made a great impact on the first team yet LVG still comes out and says he isn't ready for the first team? Deluded.

As for fans not wanting to win the FA cup, that is just unbelievable. I have never understood this mentality and never will.

Finally, SAF was no angel, boycotting the BBC after the doc about his son and don't forget the trouble with Magnier over the horse spunk that led to the Glazers taking over the club. We need to get back to winning ways, playing great football. Look at the football and goals scored during Mourinho's first season in charge of Chelsea, great attacking football. Don't get me wrong, I am no fan of him courting our club in the way it has been portrayed, but we need a strong reaction now. Pep is going to City and I expect a resurgence there, they have finished ahead of us for the past three seasons, we cannot allow a fourth. Liverpool will be stronger next season under Klopp and Tottenham will be strong.

My first choice to replace LVG would be Pochettino but it looks like that is impossible, so the best available man is Mourinho.

Yea, let's all hope we don't win the FA cup, and then hope we don't win anything next year as well, and the year after, when does it stop? Winning the FA cup is a huge achievement and we haven't managed it since 2004, whatever you think of the manager hoping the club doesn't win the cup makes me a little embarrassed of some of our fans.

It gets more ridiculous every time I read it gds.
Why would any supporter want us to lose a cup final there is No rationale to justify it.
