Things seem to be gaining momentum now and I am getting excited. News of Mkhitarayan's medical today or tomorrow plus the big rumours of Pogba getting more and more realistic by the day. Then there are the rumours of Matuidi, Lozano and a truck load of centre backs means we are set up for a great summer.

I would be happy with Matuidi and not Pogba but I certainly couldn't see both come in.

What I am going to take from Jose's four player comment is that Zlatan, Mkhit, Pogba/ Matuidi and another CB would be the steady four he wants. Bailly and Lozano being seen as squad players with potential to break in this season. The reason I say this is Jose didn't sound so sure Bailly would be ready to go which would be strange to then rely on him.

6 players coming in is a lot but I think it could happen. Mata, Blind and Rojo all leaving with maybe one or two surprises such as Valencia and Januzaj.

Bailly is definitely one of the four as jose said he already has three of the four.

It's naive to think we will stop at 4. Baily, Mkhitaryan, Pogba and Ibra would mean that Jose is sufficiently happy with the squad. But that doesn't mean it can't be improved.

If he can get Matuidi then that's a huge upgrade on Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin - either of which could leave.

A centre back like Varane or Mustafi is also a huge upgrade on Smalling so if there is a chance I expect we will go for it.

I can see the four, plus Lozano who will be loads out straight away plus perhaps one more. Either another midfielder or centre back. As it stands, both Pogba and Matuidi look likely purchases.

fresh i think 4 signings is what he said he needed to balance the squad, rest of the signings will most likely be if someone is sold and need to be replaced, which is very likely with likes of schweinsteiger being linked to psg, rojo being told to pack his bags, others like matuidi will be most likely signed only to replace players sold not otherwise.

I don't understand why it is being suggested to sign 6 or 7 players.
We have players that are good, some of them were played in the wrong position or not allowed to express themselves. For instance Young played up front a couple of times last season, however he isn't the worst winger going but that is where he is best.
As for another CB, how many would you like to have on the team exactly or are we going to field 6 of those? The advantage about Smalling is he is used to the league and has an understanding with De Gea. Putting in 2 new CBs who haven't played with the full backs or with DG or together for that matter is a massive gamble.

I'd be happy with Matuidi I happen to really like the work he gets through in a game.
