Stories going round that Darmian given permission to leave.
Anyone heard if this is true, also if it is will we look to bring a RB in and if so who do you think?
As well as Valencia is doing can't believe we would go with just him and TFM as back up.

We r after Fabinho.

Singh,

I don't actually believe that story and think he would halt the progress of TFM. Valencia will be first choice rb with TFM as back up, Darmian is good cover as he can play both sides, but I would rather see CBJ as backup to Shaw (not sure we will though as he seems to have fallen off the face of the Earth) so when Smalling is fine Blind will be back up left back and centre half along with Rojo (who I think is awful and should also leave) .

Tfm is not a right back he needs to play centrally either as a cb or midfield.

Why would you take blind out if cb GDS.

Gds,

That could well be true but ed did mention we are after a right back.

I just don't think Jose likes Darmian that much but i wouldn't mind Darmian staying as a back up or if he ups his game he could be first choice.

I hope we get rid of Rojo, he's Championship level at best. Really really poor signing, just for the sake of buying a left footed CB, who has been kept out of the side for over a year now by a midfielder.

I'd like to see CBJ given the odd game, I thought his final ball into the box was terrific, he was making good progress. Maybe Jose doesn't fancy him though.

Darmian isn't physical enough for the league. He also struggles a lot with strong pacy players. Cannot catch them and gets caught lacking when he's tracking back.
Valencia is proven what a player he still is, that spot is his and I think Jose will have TFM fill in there if Darmian was to be let go of. Darmians a fraud, and a lot of people mistake him for being Italy's no1 RB when in fact, he is just a squad player. His importance to Italy is like BWJ to us.

Mourinho was interested in Darmian before we signed him so either his homesick and is unable to settle in Manchester, its not that his an awful player. He showed a glimpse of his talent at the beginning of last season.

I don't really get this thing of Blind as back up at cb or rb, seems to be building a good partnership with Bailly .

Rio became solid with Vidic by his side! He also kept Vidic in line when he first came other, speaking to him constantly and pointing an telling him where to be. The same can be said for how Blind is now with Baily. this might actually help Blind cement CB as his own. If that does happen, realise Bailey would be the reason for it and where would that leave Smalling? I still think another CB is needed, but is that too much for 1 transfer window, is that gready? For now they look good, and you have Smalling coming back, but none of these have that experience every title winning team has!

Blind and Bailly have shown very early signs that they can compliment each other at the back. I'm a fan of Blind, not only his rugged good looks but also how composed he is at playing us out from the back. He's a good reader of the game and an intelligent footballer (doesn't just hoof the ball unnecessarily for example) .

If we replaced Blind with Smalling, yes we would have added height and pace at the back but our build up play from there is likely to suffer.

Jose usually prefers the bigger, more athletic boys (oh err) so will be intrigued to see what conclusion he arrives at with regards our strongest CB partnership.

Agree with El Loco. Damian is a really solid fullback. I think he's finding it tough to settle. He started off as one of our best players last season. Still, Valenciais doing very well and TFM will make a good deputy until he gains the experience needed to thrive in a more central position.

What scares me is that Darmian looked awesome just like Martial did, the rot set in with Darmian quickly and it seems he is lacking some sort of desire/ confidence, impossible to know without being involved. Are we seeing something similar with Martial now, it happened with ADM and something similar to Depay (but he never really got going in the first place)?

Hopefully it was just the curse of LVG and these players will start showing some umpff. Darmian could be great, I don't like the trajectory of Martial at the minute, but could be just a blip of some sort. Little things can corrupt players minds, girlfriends, missing mum, friends, losing at FIFA, overhearing something they shouldn't have etc. Remember many of them are used to being the big fish in a small pond, lots of love. Not quite the same at Old Trafford, so a bit of a culture shock and realization they might not be as important as they think they are.

These guys need to man up and realise how lucky they are. Knuckle down and we could see some really exciting times. Darmian isn't lost yet, but like Rafael without sufficient games he will only go backwards.

Martials looked fine to me, can't see what you're getting at there to be honest beast.

He is only 20 and will have dips in form in the next couple of years but he looks like most of our players this season, finding there feet and gaining match sharpness.

DSG - He looked off during the Euros and looked off during pre-season as well. He performed better than almost everyone last season and does look a shadow of that same player at the minute. I do appreciate what you are saying as it's early days, he is young, but these things need to be arrested quickly. It's something to be aware of I think as there is a slight change in his effort/ confidence levels to the naked eye.

In fairness he also has that natural nonchalant look to him which makes it difficult to detect, (he could have scored the winner in a cup final or missed a pen in a cup final and you wouldn't know), but he doesn't look fine to me, he looks unhappy and the drop-off is similar to what we saw with ADM imo. Time will tell, but I'm concerned.

Beast its nothing to do with Lvg factor. Infact just the other day Martial praised Lvgs impact and his trust in him.

He just looks short of fitness but he's a superb player and will be fine.

Beast you're just looking into things too much. Him having a bad euros is nothing to do with how he performs for United. His performances so far haven't been bad from what I've seen in the last few games, at the euros he had a bad start and wasn't really given a chance to recover.

Martial will need to up his game because he will find it harder this season to shine in a team that has vastly improved! it was a lot easier last season to look head and shoulders above the rest of the team

it should make him more him hungry.

20.) 16 Aug 2016
16 Aug 2016 19:38:27
Martial might also find it easier to play with better players.

17 Aug 2016 09:19:14
Bad Euro's, he played 45 mintues!?

22.) 18 Aug 2016
18 Aug 2016 03:18:59
How were those 45mins?

If he was showing form in training he would have played more, if he hadnt looked awful in those 45mins he would have gotten more time, he clearly has his head elsewhere as his performances all summer have indicated. He shouldn't be tired either, a man of his age. Mental issue imo.

So yeah it was a bad Euro's for Martial, it wasn't average and it certainly wasn't good, ergo it was BAD.

His head was elsewhere for 45 minutes, get him sold for a packet of peanuts.
