We've still got the top four, FA cup and Europa league to play for. We've won the EFL Cup.

We haven't been brilliant and we haven't been poor. We've certainly made life difficult for ourselves by not winning when we should. It's not our divine right to win, but we've been quite poor at finishing this season, including Ibrahimovic who despite his 26 goals this season has missed some sitters.

All of this obviously adds up. Imagine if we didn't have Ibrahimovic, where would we be?

Mourinho is ironing out the final few flaws. 3-4 summer signings and we will definitely challenge. It feels like I've been saying this for a few years now.

Agreed Hatter, their a massive improvement already in the 9 months or so Mourinho has been here, as long we address the right positions we be fine in the long haul.

It's impossible to say where we'd be. Who's to say Rashford wouldn't be on 20 goals already had he started every game, with more goal contributions from others due to a faster attack.

I often wonder where we might be if Zlatan had converted just 50% of the the chances that have fallen his way. Anyone worked that out? It could have a bearing on whether he should stay.
NB. I am not knocking his undoubted contribution to what we have achieved but looking forward, is he good enough? Should he start?
After LVG I thought we would take 2-3 seasons to recover. IMO we are well on track.

Can't quite believe I'm listening to this gordon to be honest. The guy was until yesterday the highest scorer across all 4 English leagues and suddenly, he misses a pen, and he's holding us back as 'imagine what Rashford/ another would have achieved with similar chances" mental. yes he has wasted lots of chances but he his numbers speak for themselves, were it not for him we would be in a far worse position in the league. Call out the attacking midfielders that can't hit double figures by Feb before the guy who's smashed 26. brockhills me off. We sound like bitter scousers.

I thought I had made it clear that I was not knocking Zlatan's contribution to this year's situation
. It has been priceless. Was just wondering about what might/? Should? Have been and where that leaves us looking forward.

It's the bigger picture, we're not quite there yet, and we're not far off from being there. We will have played a lot more games as well, especially with the Europa league being a hinderance.

This season has been a turning point for us. If we can get in the top four and hopefully win the Europa league then it will have been a very successful season.

Let's not forget Chelsea and Liverpool have had no European football, which makes it a damn sight easier, although it's not always the case.

We've drawn a lot of games this season but even those draws get us points. Seasons gone we would have probably lost a few more. The Mourinho factor has kicked in.

Rome wasn't build in a day, spending big bucks doesn't always get you success. A team needs to be build that is well balanced and has continuity. We're not far off that. We've been spoilt over the Fergie years.

It's know the Mourinho years. With abit more luck we would have been further up top. Every team needs luck.

Rostov next, a good away win will do nicely.

How many goals did Scholes score or assist? I can only wonder what his fee would be in this market? Once read that Juventus gave us a blank cheque for him? Point is, Pogba, Mata, Martial, Rashford etc should be hitting double figures.

I think Scholes hit double figures 3-4 times inhis career (goals scored) .

Assists i'm unsure of but i'm betting that's a lot higher.

Danny Lancs has posted some goal/ assist stats on the banter page.

Scholes hit double figures twice in his entire career (for goals) . And looking at the other stats, aside from Lampard, not many hit goal double fiugres more than a couple of times in their careers.

Evenzidaneratesscholes - League goals mate, according to Wikipedia anyway! Don't take anything I say as gospel 😂
I was just interested to see how Pogba's numbers stacked up in terms of other midfielders renowned for their goal scoring ability! His number aren't that bad really especially considering his age. My point being maybe we all expect a bit to much from him and the price tag wasn't his fault. He was under contract, Juventus had no need to sell so that's what we had to pay to get him. The price of players doesn't always necessarily correlate with their ability! How much did L'pool pay for Carroll? For the record I think Pogba will go on to become a great player for us!
