Was reading in the press about the supposed "deal" in place to take De Gea to Real Madrid, apparently it's £20 million plus James Rodriguez and Varane. Now I don't believe for one second that this is true but if it was, how many of you would take it?

Yes please. Love DDG but those two players would improve the first team no question. Arguably even a straight swap with Varane should be considered but I doubt he's really available.

It's a no from me.

Everyone's favourite varane has had 4 injuries this season missing 78 days .
Last season he had 3 injuries missing 92 days .

And people say we need a new cb because ours are injury prone?

Really rate DDG, finding world class keepers is tough and having one is essential to challenge at the top level. That being said i'd take Varane and 20m for him, would rather some more cash or Kroos than James, I don't see where he would fit in our starting xi.

If it was going to happen, which I doubt it is true, I would expect us to have Leno or Donnarumma signed up before DDG leaving is announced.

Jred, I didn't realise he was the injury prone. However he is a top CB. I personally don't see him leaving RM, given Pepe and Ramos's age. I think Pepe will be leaving in the summer?

Rodriguez is another player with questionable attitude issues, even a disruptive influence as well.

I'd prefer Kroos to be part of a deal. As Ed002 has said before p/ x deals etc are very, very rare and therefore unlikely.

Nope. DDG is as good as they come. James is massively overrated.

An injury prone cb and an overrated no 10. No thanks, i would rather keep ddg.

£40m and Kroos and they can have him if we can get Butland or Ospina for the cash.

We won't get a keeper on par with DDG because he's the best in the world at what he does, but his heart obviously belongs in Madrid so the day will come. We just have to take as much as we can get and thank DDG for his service, and for handling the whole situation so professionally which is a breath of fresh air for a young footballer. He really is a top player and a top professional.

40mil and Kroos? Does anyone really think that is remotely realistic. They will want 50-60 mil to sell kroos.

Den, imo DDG is worth £80m in today's market. He's the best in his position and he's a huge influence on the team. As far as I'm concerned he's our best player and I wouldn't take any amount of money for him - because we don't need it. We are holding the cards on this one so why not set a ridiculous price as we did with CR.

Do a RM to RM, pull their pants down ;)

Personally DDG would not be as big a miss as some people think. He is a very good shop stopper but does not command the area or claim crosses as often as he should. Don't get me wrong he is a very good keeper and he has kept us in games and won us games due to the wonderful saves that he has made. I think we should cash in now, he wants to go to Madrid at some point so let's get the best money for him now while we can.

{Ed004's Note - Only keeper I can think of that would be able to replace him would be Oblak. If he's not available no amount would persuade me to sell De Gea. I'd also be looking a world record deal for De Gea (keeper wise) - probably a player involved (such as Varane, Kroos, Bale, Casemiro etc}

I'm not sure who the best replacement should be, but from watching him every home game this season there are more commanding keepers our there who would suit the premier league.

It will be the same as every time Real or Barcelona want one of the leading prem players, they put out news that they are interested then rely on the player in question wanting the move and becoming unsettled. I don't think de Gea would rock the boat and I don't think real will pay 60/ 70/ 80 mil for him so in my opinion he will still be playing for you next year.

15.) 09 Apr 2017
09 Apr 2017 19:11:59
Madrid must think we collect injury prone Cbs and overated No 10's.

"but does not command the area or claim crosses as often as he should"
Behave, this isn't his first season at the club.

No way in a million years would I sell DDG. Unless you can guarantee me someone better (and I don't know of many available or even better keepers) then tell Real to keep their injury prone reserves and put their money where their mouth is.

Big serge looks every bit a top no 1 to me.

19.) 10 Apr 2017
10 Apr 2017 01:33:17
We must do what we can to keep him if he tries to force or encourages a move we should only sell on our terms at our valuation. A world record fee for a goal keeper was set years ago so 60m plus or don't talk to them. He is a genuine world class player that would get into nearly every team in the world. When you have one of them in your team you don't swap him for anybody.

20.) 10 Apr 2017
10 Apr 2017 06:36:30
Above I meant Oblak, not Ospina!

21.) 10 Apr 2017

Thank fook 4 that. The thought made me sick.

22.) 10 Apr 2017
10 Apr 2017 09:24:26
DDG is the best keeper in the world!

No amount of cash would make me want to sell him. He is far more than just a shot stopper and he is the sole reason that we haven't finished further down the table in recent years.

If he wants to move then so be it but we should never 'cash in' on him for the sake of money.

23.) 10 Apr 2017
10 Apr 2017 09:44:12
It's very hard for teams to do part exchange deals, as valuations on players tend to contrast between clubs

I think De Gea will have to hand in a transfer request to leave this summer

I can see if De Gea insisting going to Madrid that we will insist we have a "gentleman" agreement to buy someone like James, Kroos etc.

I think Handanovic would be a realistic and good buy, Oblak be ideal but I think Atletico will basically say to us not for sale, Jack Butland would be a good outside bet.

24.) 10 Apr 2017
10 Apr 2017 12:39:23
How much are they offering us to take James?

25.) 10 Apr 2017

Dru5s who are those keepers better suited to DDG out there.
I know what people mean when they say dealing with crosses, ariel duels and commanding the area but even Neuer (considered the best) isn't much better than DDG.
There are only a few keepers on par with DDG and some with potential to be better but I think DDG is the best suited keeper for us.
Thanks.

Love the way if De Gea decides he wants to go to Madrid, he'd be a traitor, worst in the world etc etc. But buck in a couple of shiny new players, and it's see ya, all the best, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

27.) 10 Apr 2017

If DDG goes, it will be him and his representatives that drive the move. As I have said he is a very good keeper and I don't want him to go, but if he does, we need to get the best deal possible. Just because the Madrid deal failed last time round doesn't mean that he doesn't want to play for them anymore. As for replacements I'm not too sure. When we bought him, we bought potential, he was far from the finished article. We could go down that road again. But it wouldn't surprise me if Jose went with experience or sticks with Sergio. I think if we bought in a replacement Sergio would want to leave too. He's 30 now, the Argentinean No1 and would want to be a No2 again. Don't hate on my opinion, because that's what it is an opinion.

Not hating on your opinion. Just think your name is very fitting dru5s, presume you took all of them before starting this thread 😂.
