And so it begins. Sky sports reporting man utd offered chance to sign James Rodriguez this summer.

Hope its all rubbish. The fella makes Nani look consistent, he is no more than a lightweight chancer who will be crushed in the PL. Skilful enough on his day but there never seem to be many days.

Sanchez at Arsenal although very very unlikely to happen is 3 x the player Rodriquez is. Stupid as we are with money i'd say steer clear of the whingey little brat.

That's nothing new. Ed002 mentioned this months ago and said its unlikely to happen in the recent sharkopod.

Was saying it was new news was just stating that silly season begins. I actually would mind him.

Nani still gets a lot of grief. He was awesome, just played under Robaldo's shadow.

Nani on his day was excellent, often went under the radar that he was excellent with both feet, unplayable some days and I was sorry to see that particular version of Nani go - however there were plenty of days when it seemed he had his boots on the wrong feet - quite right he is fondly remembered - but we are a long way short of some of the teams Nani played in so we need players giving 100% next season and can't afford to carry anyone which is the category where I put put Rodriguez.

Nani was awesome 10% of the time, the other 90% of the time he would give it away or be a non-entity.

There are hundreds of players like Nani - Depay and Mahrez are very similar imo. Can stand out for small teams but take them up a level where the system isn't based on giving them the ball they will be passengers or worse! These players can stand out if the team revolves around them, but unlike Messi/ Ronaldo they are not good enough for a big team to dedicate the style to them.

eric ronaldo was sold in 2009 and nani was given a chance to shine on his own, how well did that turn out.

Well he won the Players' Player of the Year in 2011 so I assume he was not awarded that for turning up 10% of the time. Not sure he's to blame either for the general demise of our playing squad since Ronnie left either. Suppose he was a flash in the pan too or had no end product either.

"Sanchez at Arsenal although very very unlikely to happen is 3 x the player Rodriquez is. Stupid as we are with money i'd say steer clear of the whingey little brat. "

Real irony in that sentence. I'd stay away from Sanchez as well personally, he has a shocking attitude. Laughing as his team concede goals, it doesn't get any more disrespectful than that.

Saw Nani playing for Valencia recently, when I took the wee man over to watch them play Malaga (his Spanish team) for his birthday. Hasn't changed. Some sublime pieces of skill and trickery, but largely frustrating. Beefed up a bit as well.

I'd compare James more to Oscar. Similar build, style etc. I thought he turned out to be a bit hit and miss, and I think it might be the same problem with James. I do really like him, though. Earned me a few quid at the last world cup.

Jet listening to Graham hunter and he says zidane has used James more and he has played better. Decent conversion rate too.
Looks like we will know by weekend or early next week.
But surely both him and griezman wouldn't be on?
