Fosu-Mensah's loan at Fulham has been terminated.

This can be a good news for us as we
are in need of defensive reinforcements.

{Ed002's Note - He was not good enough to play for them and is being replaced by someone far better. He is certainly not good enough for Manchester United and won't survive much longer at the club.}

Have to agree with 002 here. I had high hopes for TFM but he did nothing at Palace and hasn't been able to break into the worse defence in the league this season. He's not good enough for a club with title aspirations, he wouldn't get near City, Spurs or Liverpool's team so he should be nowhere near ours.

He dislocated his shoulder and dropped out. Bit concerning he couldn't force his way back in at arguably the worst team in the league though.

{Ed001's Note - he is not a defender, I don't know why he is being pushed in that direction.}

He should be playing as a midfielder, that was always going to be his best position. However, that is a role that takes on a lot of responsibility. Whereas, RB is a "easier" role to learn in as there is less responsibility on you in that area of the pitch.

The issue is you only need a handful of games to get used to the faster pace of EPL first team football. After that you gain nothing from playing in a position that is not your own.

Sending TFM to relegation threatened teams, where the pressure is massive, it takes a manager brave bordering on insane to throw a inexperienced youngster in to the heart of midfield. So he was never likely to get the game time he needs in the position that he is best in. He would have been better off going abroad and playing in midfield in any top league than stuck in the EPL playing out of position at a time when he needs to be learning in his best position.

Another potential star mis-managed by our calamitous ex-managers.

I've lost count how many false dawns we have had in recent years as we have no idea how to benefit players from loan moves and no clue how to blood them properly. Such a shame.

Difficult to say which is the right view. Maybe TFM is another star we built up in hope but who is not anywhere near Utd standard. He did look good for a few games under LVG. I’m sure we will know soon enough if he’s good enough now he’s been sent back.

Meant to say it was the wrong loan. As shappy said he should have gone abroad.

Why not bring him home and rotate with matic and at Rb give him some game time between now and the end of the season. At least then we will know if he can be good enough or not. Let’s be honest he can’t be any worse than Valencia based on yesterday’s performance and at least TFM has a bit more pace than matic.

Could he be a centre half
Instead?

{Ed002's Note - He is not good enough for MU.}

Neither are Jones and Smalling but they've been at the club for 8 years Ed002; rather see TFM over them two.

{Ed002's Note - as long as you are satisfied with complete failure - playing someone who is not good enough out of position.

As with other young players TFM has sadly not developed and if he isn’t outstanding at a lower level club the chances are he just doesn’t have what it takes and is not going to make it. The fact he has not even established himself in lesser teams which says a lot. I always felt he was a holding midfield player and hopefully he will carve out a career but I can’t see it being in Uniteds first team now.

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with the other players and you want to play someone who is not good enough out of position.}

Always felt Tuanzebe shone more than TFM that season. He had Hazard in his pocket one game when playing at right back if I remember correctly.

Id like to see him get a chance on his proper position on loan to a more suitable team and then we can make a proper assessment.

I would keep him in the squad. We need an energetic screening defensive midfielder to break up play, (as much as Matic has been good he isn't suited to a press) .

Potential star is exactly it. But lots of young players can't step up to the next level. It could be due to mismanagement but most likely it is not. The coaching staff at United and at the loan clubs are unlikely to be wrong. I agree with Ed002. It's disappointing but he's almost certainly just not good enough.

Villa interested In a loan deal for him, as a midfielder.
