Their may be 15 games to go that decide our final league position and I'm a little bit worried to say the least. CS is a liability in the box and PJ lacks the tools to be a decent defender. I wish Bailly took the chance to get back into the team due to the fact that the LCB position is our wekest point in the team.

We should be going all out to get Kalidou koulibly in the team but we will twiddle our thumbs and watch klopp sign him up and kick ourselves for not signing him.

Kalidou is happy where he is, and not available for transfer for now.

He is the obvious choice at CB, strong in the air, great with the ball at his feet and prefers to operate as the left hand centre back.

Yet, making this transfer in January without a full time manager was never going to happen. He will cost a club record fee for a defender possibly for any player.

You don't break club record fees for a player while you don't have a manager. If the next manager doesn't want him then the club have wasted loads of money and look very foolish.

Bailly has never played LCB, he always plays on the right of the two.

We can't pin our hopes on the accident waiting to happen that is Bailly. If Arsenal are interested we should let him go, as Arsenal/ Europa League is his level.

As Kenedy said, Koulibaly seems happy where he is as has been mentioned by 002 more than once.

If we're to push on and challenge then we need to prioritise an established CB with experience of winning titles, and move Bailly, Rojo and Jones on to clubs suited to their level.

Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't Lindelof been starting LCB and been playing well?

I think the issue is finding a RCB to partner him.

Lindelof played on the LCB under Mourinho but looks much better on the RCB where has been played by Ole.

Koulibaly maybe unsettled in Italy because of the continuous racist attacks.
At 27, he would be a brilliant top class addition to our team. He could have similar impact which Van Dijk did at Liverpool.

If there is any truth to the ongoing speculation then surely a punt on the £30m Alderweireld at a quarter of the price is the way to go? A proven top Prem defender whose absense would put a chink in Tottenham’s armour too.

Spenno, I wouldn't be upset if we brought in Alderweireld. I do have two slight concerns with him though. Firstly his injury record recently hasn't been great, and at his age that is unlikely to improve. Secondly he is exclusively a right sided CB, which is the same as all our CB's bar Rojo. So that would mean one of our current CB's would have to play in their weaker position. Which isn't ideal.

That being said Alderweireld is an excellent CB.

If Kouilably isn't available maybe we can enquire about his National team's CB partner Salif Sane (I know he just join Schalke this season but . ) or Jonathan Tah.

I thought Bailly took a good step forward against Arsenal last night. He and Lindelof May still prove to be a good combination. Both are still on the young side for CB’s.
An experienced (though not old) CB would still be a good addition.
Then try Tuanzebe as the 4th, Smalling as a last resort.

Only a handful must watch our games. I'm well aware Lindelof played LCB but that was under Mourinho. KenedyAndy is aware of my point

Lindelof is playing RCB now and Jones was LCB and was a liability hence me saying LCB is our weak point. It seems some posters would rather find argument or flaws on this site for any reason.

We are playing after Mourinho so my comments are present in position not asking for judgemental biased views poking posters with stick

As 002 would say RTFP and proof read h5y to think through.
