The thing with maguire is, stay at leicester and progress under a good coach in rodgers or come to a united team in upheaval under an inexperienced managers.

Same goes for chilwell or maddison i honestly think it is a tough choice to join united or stay at leicester just for this upcoming season.

Good signing if true. Our back 4 is dreadful and he is not.

Ive not been a big fan. But he is better than all but 1 of our current options so that's a tick
Great in the air. Tick
Good talker at the back. Tick
Comfortable on the ball. Tick

Negatives.
Not quick.
Positional sense is questionable
Probably better in a 3

On balance i would say he is an improvement.

There’s a competition for the most ridiculous comments this week. There is a lot of competition but “it’s a tough choice to join United or stay at Leicester” is right up there.

AJH, while I agree with what you say, I don’t think it’s that clear cut any more.

Undoubtedly Manchester United are a much bigger club.

But then points made are valid. Leicester has a decent season and look to be on the up. Last won the premier league a few years ago (not to say they will again) . Have a good, well respected club. Have a good British core to their team.

Meanwhile we are on our way down like a stock without a floor.

Would somebody like Maguire want to come into a club when he’s not sure what the plan is or have any idea if they are going to compete, or stay where he is at a team making positive strides.

Finally, I do think this is the sort of player we need. He lacks pace but is good on the ball, PL proven.

I’d also like us to chase Chilwell - and Maddison and Vardy would improve us. I think that shows Leicester have the making of a very solid team, as at least a third of their first XI would walk into our first XI.

Not that ridiculous, it would be a smart decision to stay at leicester another year and then get a move to a club that is in a much better position that we are in our current state.

Harry Maguire has faults but at a time we are in need of leadership I see the positives in signing him. He is a commanding figure and is also a threat in the opposition box. Whilst I am not directly comparing the two, if a young Steve Bruce was at Norwich now there would be many on here saying he was too slow, gets out of position etc. I think we need an English spine so would buy Maguire.

In answer to having another year at Leicester, another year older and chances to play at the big clubs don’t come around too often.

If Bruce was playing in the modern game, he would be destroyed. Faster paced, and far less physical, Bruce’s lack of quality would be exploited.

McGuire would be a step up from what we currently have, but he isn’t a top class defender. With Shaw’s tendency to get caught out of position, adding McGuire to the mix would make us doubly exposed on the left side.

Not that ridiculous, this is our own fans suggesting up and coming p, Ayers wouldn’t want to come to United. I’m lost for words.

AJH, are we as attractive as we used to be? I’m not sure we are.

We’ve just finished 6th and don’t look like we’ll be back on top any time soon, if a Spurs or Chelsea came in for a player I think they’d be stronger options right now.
