Eds is there any truth we are looking at the lille keeper Mike Maignan as a possible de gea replacement? Also what do you think the likelyhood de Gea will leave this summer?

{Ed002's Note - (1) Manchester United asked for a price knowning that Lille have identified a replacement already - he is one of a number of players they have done this with. (2) He wants out and I expect the club have decided not to block it.}

Hi Ed002.
In the earlier update you had said that United had looked into Ahmadou Dia who is one for the future.
So if De Gea is allowed to leave this summer, do you expect United to promote Romero/ Grant/ Henderson as first choice
Or, are they looking for a keeper from top European sides?

{Ed002's Note - I have just answered that MU are looking at GKs.}

Good decision by the player for not blocking someone that wants out of the club and he has given quite a lot to the club.

Is the interest in Maddison genuine Ed?

{Ed002's Note - There is plenty of interest from clubs but I doubt Leicester will sell at anything less than a ridiculous fee.}

Sorry Ed. I thought you would namelist more GK targets.

Looks like this will be one of United's biggest ever rebuild in recent history.
Integrating the new players will be key aspect next season.

{Ed002's Note - Jasper Cillessen (G)
Ahmadou Dia (G) one for the future - there has been a meeting but nothing came of it
Berke Ozer (G) one for the future
Kaylor Navas (G) now available but heading elsewhere
Andre Onana (G) will challenge Barcelona for a deal
Gianluigi Donnarumma (G) €75M asking price is seen as excessive

Thanks Ed :)
Donnarumma would be my personal choice out of the above list.
But it will be a huge task replacing someone of the caliber of De Gea.

{Ed002's Note - He nearly moved to England last year but it was called off - I am not sure that a loss risky option might not be best. Or MU may opt to block de Gea leaving and wait until next year.}

Hi TRD,
Donnarumma isn’t the keeper we need at all, not unless OLG wants a poor shot stopped who is decent with distribution. Check out my recent post re: GKs United should consider if De Gea goes, there are far better options.

Interesting to read that we will challenge to sign Onana if I’ve read that right.

{Ed002's Note - I think he would be the pick.}

KG.
I believe at just 20, Donnarumma has massive scope for improvement
and at 6 foot 5, he will be well suited to the physical demands of English football.
