Random question. can we still sell players to clubs whose transfer window is open still?

I ask because what is Darmian going to do for a year if not?

{Ed002's Note - Yes Eric. Transfer windows relate to the registration of players. So MU can still sell Pogba to Real Madrid or Juventus.}

This is the reason Pogba should of been moved on and a replacement brought in before the 8th.

Not even our boards ineptitude can go that low ED, as to let Pogba go now.

{Ed001's Note - is it ineptitude to sell a player who wants to leave?}

Ed001 If he is your best player and you were stupid enough not to buy a replacement it is ineptitude.

{Ed001's Note - he is not your best player, never has been the best player anywhere he has been.}

Alex won the league with Cleverley and Anderson in midfield. Let s see what Ole can do.

Darmian will do what he's done the previous two year when he's been surplus to requirements. Train professionally when required and then go back to italy and chill out when given permission.

Not a bad life if you can get it.

Mick1 have you just suggested that OGS can do what Sir Alex did?

Agree Ed. I’m not sure why people think PP is our best player, although football is about perspectives. He can be 1 in every 20 games. I don’t buy that we look better with him in the team. Defensively we have to carry him, and most of all he wants to leave. No need to reply with his goals scored stats, we know he’s a good penalty taker.

{Ed001's Note - he looks good in highlight reels but he is ineffective over 90 minutes. Not my idea of the best.}

Obviously CSM completely forgot about Jones, Tris.

{Ed001's Note - no doubt.}

Agree with ed. He is a very good player for about a third of the season, touching on world class every now and again even. He is our best midfield player in the games he turns up for but not our best player as he doesn't turn up enough.

That said, it would be stupid to let him go with no midfielders signed, in my eyes. Therefore it'll probably happen;-)

{Ed001's Note - I would rather play youth team players who will at least give their all. Might inspire the rest of the team as well to up their game.}

Out of interest Ed001, who do you think is our best outfield player if not Pogba?

{Ed001's Note - Wan-Bissaka probably. Though I would take Rashford and Lindelöf over Pogba as well.}

“We don't look better with him in the team” what a ludicrous statement. Yes i would much prefer to see matic or fred ahead of him. Give over lol.

Sorry DSG totally disagree, how many goals do we concede because Pogba goes walkabout. I can think of at least 3 from last season alone. He's a total liability. He plays well for a short period when he gets his own way, but when out backs are against the wall, such as when Top 4 was in our own hands last season, he goes missing. He's not up for the fight. He wants to play for the best team in the competition so he can show boat knowing he's going to take all the plaudits. Add to that he's a lousy person, he's just not the type of character I like to get behind.

For those reasons I do not think we are a better team with Pogba on the pitch. Of course it's not as black and white as that, 3 or 4 games a season he looks world class and wins us games, but for the remaining 30+ games he's a liability who has no interest in putting the graft in to get us back to where we want to be as fans.

Ole was right, he can offer Pogba a new challenge. If Pogba is up for it or not is a different question entirely.

We need PP in the side. Who else is there to create an opportunity for the front three other than him?

I do however think that Ole will play him more and more in the no.10 role in a 4-2-3-1 system after being unable to sign Dybala etc. though, due to the aforementioned lack of tracking back. Then two of McTom, Fred, Andreas and Matic will sit behind him.

I've been thinking the same, push PP further forward. We're really light though in the middle. Whereas at 10 we could have PP, Lingardinho, Mata and Gomes. And I'd rather see Gomes get minutes.

You do not know the man personally, how can come to such serious character judgements?

Our whole team went missing, if you expect any midfielder in world football to drag us to success in the state we were in last season, you will be looking for a long while. How many goals did we concede because matic can not properly screen the back 4 or becuase luke shaw will neverr close down the wide man. Our whole team went to pot last season.

Pogba is one of the only players in our team brave enough to ask for the ball in tough situations, graft works both ways, he lacks it defensively but offensively he is always willing to try things and create chances. that's what a team is all about, some players are good at some things and poor at other, its all about the blend. that's why i am looking foreard to see how mctominay and pogba do as a pair, they complement each other well.

I am not the biggest paul pogba fan, but I think he has handled this window very well, and should have earned a modicum of our trust back.

Also I don't like to go against the Ed's but imo there is 0% of him leaving this window.

A ciuple of early defeats and he will be busting a gut to get out and it will all be rather unpleasant.
I think a few early wins and all the talk will go away until the next window.

You big tease Ed002:)

This is the first time I'll not agree with you Ed001. At this point, we need Pogba in our team.

As for the rest talking about "ambition" "passion" "commitment" "loyalty" and all that, we're in a different era. Pogba may not be the best but he's among the best ballers and since his arrival at Manchester United, he has not featured in the best five players in the world. Any appearance in any selected world-level team is based on his international duties. He has no chance of winning the Premier league or champion's league in the coming days. The club aren't showing much ambition to strengthen yet you all want him to smile and keep it up to show "he loves the club".

Yet if any of you had a better offer than your employers that would lead to a more successful and beneficial future for you and your families you would take it without thinking - isn't it hypocrisy?

Remind me how many trophies Bale won at Madrid. Maybe he should have stayed at Spurs they would have at least won the FA Cup.

On a final note, 8m not saying loyalty is not good, but ambitious and also visions have to match. Also, do remember we're at an age where "playing for the badge" is becoming history.

{Ed001's Note - what are you wittering on about? People expect Pogba to break sweat and make an effort, it's his job and he is well paid to try. Instead he strolls about being a lazy get, it doesn't matter what era you are in. Have you not seen the top 3 last season play? All 3 had 11 players on the pitch making an effort, which is why they are the top 3. Pogba apologists, excusing him being a lazy tit despite being paid millions to stroll around the pitch laughing at the fans paying his enormous wage to do f all, are just embarrassing. Clueless.}

Pogba is not a main midfield player, he doesn’t have the strength, tackling, ball retention or running to do it. Put him in a free role as a No10 for want of a better description just behind the forward/ s and he will create and score. He needs solidity behind him, not be the solidity. We now have a more solid defence, but midfield isn’t. Play him as one of two in central midfield and he will have the occasional good game but mostly be caught in possession and see players run past him.

I would have sold him this summer, I don’t think he is committed to Europa glory or possibly scraping fourth. I would suspect the decision makers, having staked a lot of money for his social media presence, don’t want to lose face or clicks by selling him. If he stays I suspect it will be a Cristiano type arrangement, stay for one more year and you can go next summer. The fact he has stayed so far, there is nothing to say the financial gurus won’t sell him in the next few weeks of course, indicated a lack of leadership throughout the club, including the precious manager.

Couldn't have put it better myself ed001. But if I did, I'd be attacked on here. Some people really believe pogba is going to turn a switch and become 'THAT' player.

{Ed001's Note - people keep defending him but fail to notice that the problem is not that he can't tackle, for example, because he is a bloody good tackler. The issue is that he can't be arsed to put a challenge in. He is the problem, not the position he is played in. He has an attitude that stinks on the pitch. I have no issues with what he does off the pitch, he doesn't drink, smoke, do drugs, he keeps himself in excellent shape. His issues are all on the pitch with a complete lack of effort. Look at the difference with Santiago Cazorla when Wenger asked him to play deep. He gave 100% and was outstanding, because he tried. You can forgive a player for being crap, what is unforgivable is when they are lazy and don't even try and make the effort. If they don't try they don't deserve anyone's backing.}

22.) 10 Aug 2019
10 Aug 2019 11:42:08
Now all of that compounded by the fact he doesn't want to bloody be here.

But people on here think he is going to change his mind.

{Ed001's Note - they are like lovesick teenagers who won't accept the woman of their dreams has no interest in them.}

Why the need for digs like, 'precious manager', Red Man? Fine, you didn't want him as the manager, but he's still been a great Utd servant, and probably deserves a bit better than spiteful little comments like that. Sounds a bit childish, to be honest.

It’s a case of the E, peror’s new clothes for me. We see the odd great pass or flick but over a game he regularly disappears. We can argue all we like about how good a player he is but ultimately he doesn’t want to be here and doesn’t appear to be giving everything for the cause. Talent is great, but without effort and application then it is too often wasted.
