In response to the comment credited to Juergen Klopp, I think the guy is spot on. I've always wondered why we always have to play players out out of their positions. take Wayne Rooney's case for instance, instead of buying a solid midfielder who'll be supplying our forwards accurate passes, we deployed Rooney there. Don't you think Rooney performs better when he plays up front? Same goes for Nani, Giggs, Jones, who had been played out of their positions. Kagawa had been subjected to this as well.

Anderson looked like such a prospect before he came to United, playing in a more advanced role.

I still think he is a good player but his fitness let's him down massively, but still he was never used in his best position.

Anyone who doesn't rate Kagawa in with the very best clearly doesn't watch him closely enough, he is exceptionally good. I'd happily play him in an attacking midfield role at the expense of Rooney.

Agree with both posters, saf has played all these players out of position. And mostly due to his reluctance and inadequacies when buying decent midfielders. The last good midfielder we bought was carrick, and Keane and ince before him. The rest came thru the ranks.
He bought veron, Anderson who have not performed to the level required. And then deployed giggs and Jones there? This is man united fie god's sake. All the top teams have world class midfielders, while our manager chooses to move our main striker into midfield, then he puts a 39 year old and a 38 year old against Chelsea's midfield.
The problem does not lie with Rooney, it lies with Ferguson and his rubbish scouting system who have not managed to buy one decent midfielder in years, apart from kagawa and then playing him DM, left wing etc, anywhere but his best position,
I'm glad we have a change now, Ferguson has been superb, but his tactics in recent years against the top teams have been shambolic.
