Just what Fergie was hoping for when he dropped the Rooney transfer request into his last interview. Chelsea have taken the bate and when the bidding gets up to £40million with the transfer deadline aproaching, we then ask for Lukaku, Ramirez or Matta plus £20million and purely due to the arrogance of both Mourino and Abramovic we will get the deal that suits us.

Annie thanks for your response.

Fabergas would be considered a marquee signing but I don't see this as a contradiction. Typically we get our signings in early and quietly, but this year we have announced that we have an 'open budget' and a desire to sign at least one if not two established midfield players. It not exactly a strong hand in our negotiating position.
