Don't know if anyone watched the after match programme on mutv yesterday. Gordon McQueen was asked by a caller about ozil, fellaini, modric. He actually said, but will those players improve us?
Now, I accept that these guys have to be slightly biased, but please don't treat your audience like we're stupid.
At least Lou Macari had the brains to say that modric will improve us.
I'm sure David Moyes will not pay any attention to McQueen's comments, it is just pathetic to think ex players who should know about the game, could be so blinkered.

I agree you need to sound bullish about your club's current squad and do the same in public viewing. But ex football players saying if Ozil, Modric et all will improve us or not is a bit uncalled for. I thought Mad Paddy was the only one in the lot, but I guess he has competition.

I think this has somewhat gotten into a lot of United fans' minds. When people actually come out and say they don't think Navas, Negredo, Jovetic will improve City, I don't agree with that notion. I would have been over the moon if Navas or Jovetic would have joined us. It is always wise to respect and not under-estimate what your rivals have been doing. I can never be blinkered to the extent that I say us adding Varela is good enough to guard against City and Chelsea with their reinforcements.

Yes we won the league at a canter last season, but I think other teams were very poor last season. It is unfair to take it as a yardstick to measure/predict this years performance.

Likewise I don't endorse the doom merchants saying we will not finish top 4 etc etc. If we can keep Rooney and add Fellaini, we will be there and thereabouts.

Deeps.

I agree - Navas or Jovetic would be better if we had got them. Unfortunately we are not as good at securing top talent as City or Chelsea presumably because of the deals that are offered thee players -quite often to sit on the bench.
United need to decide are they in that market. If so we need to offer the same or better deals or we simply wil not attract the top talent. They will and have gone elsewhere.
