Very interested to see what happens with Ronaldo when Bale joins Real Madrid. How can Real afford Bale they have only sold Higuain and brought Asier Illramendi and Isco for double what they sold Higuain for. I've got a sneaky feeling that United may just sign Ronaldo who's still yet to agree a new deal at Madrid. Thoughts?

At the moment I believe their net spend is about £8m for the window. Hardly breaking the bank!

You forget that they also sold Albiol and Callejon to Napoli for another £19m to add to the £32.5m they got from Higuain and the £5.2m they got from Getafe for Pedro Leon. That makes about £57m coming in vs £65m spent.

They also sold callejon and Albiol. If Ronaldo leaves Madrid it won't have anything to do with recouping money

What about the 90 million spent on bale?

Real have spend almost nothing when you add up what they have sold and what they bought. For a club like their size they have a lot more they can do. What would be interesting is how the ruling on their special tax breaks goes in the near future and how that effects them going forward.

Real are not in any sort of profit from the sales and purchases in the window. Don't forget that the players that were sold weren't transfer listed and therefore had a compensation package from their wages. Plus the transfer fees paid doesn't include agent fees and signing on bonuses. All that equals a loss.

To add Bale and everything that will go with that would mean an even bigger loss of money. Plus Bale isn't going to sell that many shirts (neither are the other signings).
