Mourinho's comments show just why he was the wrong man for United. He may be charismatic but he is disruptive and divisive. Rooney may or may not have said he wants to leave but the continual public pronouncements from Mourinho are embarrassing. DM should take note re Banes and Fellaini.

As for last night, it wasn't a great game but I was worried we would be overrun in midfield. With the options Chelsea had I thought Carrick and Cleverley did really well. It was good to see Cleverley stick his foot in and even Valencia looked hungry and up for it. I'd love Welbeck to do well but I thought he drifted out of the game last night and also wasted the best chance. However, we still have Rafael, Kagawa, Nani and Hernandez to come back in plus whoever we eventually sign.

I don't get this RVP / Rooney story either - players have always shook their heads when they think they should have received a pass. RVP has been very public saying Rooney was one of the reasons he joined United so I don't think there is a story there. It will be interesting to see how the Rooney story develops in the next 24 hours. I think the lack of offers for him has probably startled him ( and Stretford).

Jose is turning into a sad caricature, mate.

Can't believe so many people wanted him, and the circus that comes with him, anywhere near our great club.

He might have won a few trophies, but he'd have turned us into a laughing stock, once the London media realised they hated Utd even more than they loved the Special One.

Mourihno's comments were a disgrace. How can it be that the FA allow one Premier League manager to issue a public ultimatum to a player of another club? If that is not tapping up then I don't know what is. Having said that, Rooney and his (ill) advisors are doing themselves no favours with their self-imposed silence.
