Just thought I would add my view to the Nani debate.for what its worth!
I too think we could see a rejuvenated Nani this season. Moyes clearly rates him, and has shown this by the new contract. Having his managers trust and faith will give the player a confidence boost on its own. I also think that if we go with the 4-2-3-1 (or similar) formation will also Nani flourish. He has been mainly played as an orthodox right winger under SAF, a position that also carries important defensive responsibilities. which is obviously not his strong point. For this reason, SAF often preferred Valencia over Nani (no jokes please!) due to his tracking back more and giving more cover to the full back.
If we do go with the above formation, out attacking "3" will do their defending higher up the pitch, a bit like Xavi, Iniesta etc at Barcelona involving more closing down and pressing the opposition, rather than just tracking back and getting "stuck in", so to speak.
Nani has loads of ability, he just doesn't show it often enough. If he can get a good run in the team and find some form, I really think he could be a very good player for us. He is certainly capable of it, as many of his performances for Portugal have shown. I know he can be the most frustrating of players, as I have been known to shout the add expletive at him myself!
Lets hope he can find some form, and consistency soon, and we could see the player he has the talent to be. We had a disappointing transfer window, but if Nani along with Rooney and Kagawa can get playing regularly and keep fit, it would almost be like 3 new signing compared to last season.
. or am I being too optimistic?

Great name swollocks! totally agree - with a fully fit front four of Rooney, RVP, Nani and Kagawa we would be pretty tough to beat plus with Carrick/Jones and Fellaini sitting behind and us playing a higher tempo pressing game things would look a lot brighter than the last few years!
