A few weeks ago I said on here that Wilson would benefit from training and playing with Falcao. Therefore I read with interest that DiMaria and Falcao are also having a positive affect on Luke Shaw. Gareth Southgate is quoted as saying "I think what he (Shaw) now has is a recognition of what 'world class' looks like, he might have had an idea of what he thought it was before, but training at Manchester United with the likes of Radamel Falcao and Angel di Maria has given him a full understanding of the concept now. He would have known there was a level, but now he knows there is a level above that.'
Shaw has also apparently been sharing stories about DiMaria and Falcao amongst the U21 players.
An interesting benefit of buying class, similar to when Cantona arrived having a similar impact on the class of 92. It could be argued that DiMaria and Falcao are world stars and a level above Cantona. The long term benefit could be very interesting

And he didn't mention Rooney? Amazing considering how world class he is.

Gd post that redman.

Good point Red Man. I just have one disagreement, only Cantona is a level above Cantona :)

Deeps.

True Deeps!. Only one King!.!!!
Still gives me goose bums!!
Collar up!.he was sheer class!

I think shaw will be one of the best left backs that has played in the last 20 years.

3 premiere league managers reckon he is the best british talent they have seen in the last 10 years. It is scary when you realise he is only 19 and what he will be like in a few years and hope to god he stays away from any serious injuries.

I'm more concerned about him staying away from the kebab house. He's got quite a bulky physique - and like Rooney - I can see him struggling to keep his weight in check (just to point out - I'm not saying that either are 'fat' - just that they have a particular body type).

7.) 17 Oct 2014
Same worry RedSeven, he looks like he has a bit of Anderson (literally) in him - chubby funster.

8.) 17 Oct 2014
The only thing above cantona is them seagulls

It would be nice for Shaw to be able to learn from players who are defenders as well, naturally there will be professional things he will learn from the world class attackers but we have a severe lack of quality defensive players for our young prospects to learn from - hopefully this will be addressed properly in January.

What is it with some people on here with the snide Rooney remarks. This kid is going to be the Manchester United and England all time top scorer. He must have something about him breaking records that have stood for all these years.
How many years ago was it the famous "transfer request" he handed in?
Get a grip and move on.

11.) 17 Oct 2014
The Rooney debate is tiresome. He is not everyone cup of tea but he will be breaking records, he is the Captain and he will be here for some time. He may be in decline but I would definitely rather play on the same side as him than against him.

12.) 17 Oct 2014
I think that was why LVG wanted Evra to stay so Shaw could learn from him.

13.) 17 Oct 2014
I think he has the right manager for the weightissues. already shown what he has to do to get in the team. now carry on and stay there.
Cantona is and will aAlways be king. such a difference maker in a game and set the bar for the youngsters to follow on how hard to train. Legend

Shaw isn't naturally bulky like Rooney, I read somewhere that he did a lot of work in the gym to build his upper body up when he was at Southampton.

Just like GCU said though I hope he stays away from any serious injury.
