Wanted to vote Fellaini player of the month but he's only played one and a bit games, although he's been our best player in those one and a bit games haha. Had to be De Gea, wonder how many times he's won player of the month since joining.

Was talking to a friend of mine (Chelsea fan) the other day and he seems to think that after a year or two De Gea could be back off to Spain, with RM. He thinks that's why we're hoping to get Valdes back fit and sign him on a free.

I personally think he'll be here for the long run, especially can't see him joining RM being an Atletico boy. What do you guys reckon?

I'm not so sure like you said because of the athletico link. I would also expect rm to go for kun Aguero at some point who they've wanted for a long time but has proved difficult probably also because of the atletico link.

To me I can't see us holding him if a Spanish giant comes knocking. I expect they will also. DDG is sheer Class, Its unfortunate however What team can hold on to their players when they are after them?

4.) 29 Oct 2014
Back in summer it was reported that DDG's girlfriend was pushing him to go back to Spain but there was no indication this could be imminent

I think with the strong Spanish contingency at the club it could persuade him to stay and make him feel more at home

The problem is as soon as you have problems at home that trumps everything. It doesn't matter if they opened up a Tapas bar next door if the Mrs wants out it makes for a very difficult situation that eventually he will crack with. All it will take is for a couple of bad games, a fall out with somebody at training and it will be the straw that breaks the camels back - its easier to give in if the other side is relentless. I don't know how close he is with his girlfriend, but if they are solid then he will be back in Spain unless you change her mind somehow. Shame obviously, but home life will prevail imo.

Mrs Vidic wanted to leave for years but he stayed.

There are exceptions MrE, the men of the Balkans are definitely rulers of their house for the most part. Vidic is old school, DDG is very much a young man still and the Spanish are typically very family orientated (more so than most nationalities).

I know there are some sweeping generalisations there by me, but it's easy to come out with exceptions, everyone is different. DDG seems a quiet insular guy that would rely on family support, Vidic is a machine, some grief at home to him was probably a turn on.

Vidic stayed loyal and was never in a real position to go back to serbia so staying in England was his best option
