Can i get a discussion going on a player that I personally dislike in a united shirt. Fellaini! Now I understand what he's about and his usefulness in certain games or situations in a Match but for me he's is not a united player, he's not good enough on the ball. He's also dirty and uses his elbows to win headers which is not to my liking! I know he's helped out a lot this season but that's because we were desperate after moyes ruined us! Surely now we have the window we can replace him with a proper footballer, ie vidal! Therefore, personally, if juventus wanted fellaini as a swap for vidal I'd hsve to say yes. Although like I said he could come in handy again this season. Thoughts please guys?

He was a huge part of the reason we got CL last season and will be a key player next year in my opinion. Hard worker and gets no credit.

Haters going to hate.

In my opinion his style of play needs to be our plan B and not our plan A. It is a heck of a plan B to have as opposition players do fear him.

I agree fellaini is not a united type player but i think i can keep him as a squad player . Further don't think juve have any interest in him

For once I agree with JMB.

He won't be key as he's the antithesis of a van gaal player he only used him as we needed the physicality. He'll barely play this season and sold next summer at a big loss.

To go a bit gds, the only thing your positive on is a player most of us don't consider a united player.

I'm sure juventus have no interest it was just a hypothetical suggestion to see what we would do if someone did want him this summer. He's not a united player and we do appreciate what he did during our desperate season but if he's getting in our team next season it will mean we have had a terrible summer and missed out on all our targets

Well everyone laughed at us for signing him. None of them were laughing when he scored for us against City or when he set up RVP against Chelsea or scored the winner for us against palace. The fact is he was integral to us getting CL football this year so for me he is a bit of an unsung hero.

We definitely have players who have performed far worse and certainly he deserves his place in the starting 11 just as much as anyone else at the moment imho, and until we sign anyone better I won't be complaining if he is in the 11 next year. He's one of the few players we have which makes teams change their tactics against us, it gives them another entity to worry about at every corner etc.

So without Felliani would we be in CL this coming season? If it wasn't for Felliani how many goals would we have scored last season with LVG's 'tika, taka, bore, please God help us score a goal' approach last season? Even when he wasn't bullying defenders he was opening up space when we constantly played high diagonal balls to him.

I keep seeing 'he isn't a Van Gaal player' yet last season he seemed like one of a select few who thrived under the 'philosophy'. Like I said hardworking guy and doesn't get the credit he deserves as most would rather chat about Herrera's neat passes or Mata's tricks but we would have got CL last season without our Mata's, Herrera's and Di Maria's but not without Felliani.

have to agree with JMB on this one, he offers a physical presence which we lack. thought he had a good season tbf

I like what Fellaini can offer, but he isn't my ideal type of player personally. He is the player that brought the X factor to our team last season, maybe not the X most people like but he was one of the only ones turning up most weeks and was often the key difference, unlike Rooney, RVP, Falcao, ADM, Mata, etc. He did what he was signed to do, more so than almost anybody else.

As an outside bet, if we sign a couple of solid CM's I wouldn't be surprised to see a bit of swappage with Coleman!

other than dea gea, the big wig was my pick for player of the season.

regardless of how he plays he is a threat and teams can't handle him.

he will one of the first names on the team sheet.

Herrera and Mata were equally important for us JMB

He's a regular for Belgium who are ranked 2nd in the World. He's not the most pleasing on the eye but he is a hand full and I think his first touch is very underrated. Ideally I would of loved ADM in that position if asked at the start of the season but the way they both performed, Fellaini earned his role. I think we should look to replace as a regular but he, for me, has warranted his first team squad role. He can do it on a Tuesday night in Stoke!

What Fellaini does is absorb one or two of the opposition midfield players and what that can do is free up players like Herrera and Mata, ADM and Depay. If these players are getting marked out of a game throwing the big man on can cause all manner of issues for other teams as they can't cope with him physically so they need to double and triple up on him which should allow the others to flourish.

Young, Fellaini, DDG, Herrera were our best players last year mate.

He might not be 5.10 and a slick dribbler of the ball but he is so much more effective on the pitch than some of the guys who by reputation are darlings of the fans but on performance were shit.

People here will slag him because he is Moyes signing and some can't get past that which is unfortunate.

Srestha - I disagree about Mata, he had 2 or 3 good games all season, the rest he may as well not have been on the pitch. He is a talented and likeable player but the system didn't work for him or the strategy.

Valencia, Young, Herrera, DDG & Fellaini were the players that deserved their pay most last season. It's time we started rewarding performances rather than media reputations.

Great discussion glad I posted this, so on the whole we all are thankful for him but realise we need more quality in that position if we can get it, if not he's earnt his spot. Fair enough. Nice one

I agree beast imagine bringing in performance related pay and bonuses rather than hefty basic salaries.
