I really don't get the mentality of people on here, they act like getting benteke would be a bad thing but think johnny evans is good enough? I sometimes think i'm the subject of one huge windup that's been arranged to make me feel like i'm going crazy! Benteke was nominated for pfa young player of the year just over 12 months ago and people act like he's somehow not man utd quality? The same people in the same breath drool over kane for doing the exact same thing. Kane went missing at UTD but Benteke went searching and found the net!! Kanes performance against chelsea put him in the spotlight and that light shined especially bright because he's English. I will put cold hard cash down with anybody that if Benteke came to us he will outscore kane next season. Iv said it before that if benteke didn't get injured before the world cup he would have left villa last season bagged a fair few in the wc and everyone would be crying on here about how well he would suit us.


Evans UTD quality but Benteke isn'thas got to be the craziest thing iv ever encounterd (football related)

Difference is ones a homegrown player, good lad who's come through the academy and who we've turned into a professional, the other is an overrated so and so who would cost in excess of 30m when we can get much better for a similar price, ala Benzema, Lewandowski, Lacazette.

If we were to sign him i certainly wouldn't be disappointed i think he is a player that offers a lot as a striker but no knowing that lewi is available from BM I've got fingers crossed on him as i think he is up with the worlds best strikers

First, he was nominated 2 years ago. Second, Welbeck was also nominated the year he was, and Kyle Walker is a past winner, so I'm not sure if being nominated for a pfa young player award means that the player is necessarily top quality. Third, Villa are looking for major money for him, 30m +. Fourth, when players like Benzema and Lewandowski are available for relatively similar prices, why would anyone pay it for Benteke unless they weren't capable of convincing a genuinely top class striker to sign?

I would sell Evans

I would not buy Benteke because altho I rate him I don't think he suits the style we should be aiming for.

I'd go all out to sign Lewandowski rather than Benteke. If we don't get a top top striker, then I'd even suggest we go for Charlie Austin rather than Benteke and look to develop Depay and Wilson

Benteke isn't pacey enough for my liking and wouldn't appreciate us spending over £30 million on someone like him, when Austin who imo is similar would be available for a third of that

Its not even just him HB its people saying they don't want players like cavani etc were talking about real class proven players that people sneer at but then say things like evans is good enough.

Sorry for the rant guys i just find it frustrating sometimes that people want players with fancy names or with grapevine hype but turn their noses up at proven players

Ur right DP it was 2 years ago runner up to bale but i still stand by my point he has been successfull in the prem with a pretty poor team and I don't think people should be posting things like please don't tell me were in for him when he would be a great addition to add goals which he's proven to do

It's quite simple really, I'm sure everyone would be happy with Benteke, if he was a £15m replacement for little pea. The problem is the rumour of £32m+. A fee of which can obtain Lewandowski, Benzema or Lacazette for example. Benteke is not in the league of these gentlemen. AND NEITHER IS KANE (yet).

When did it become common knowledge that these players were available for 32m? For a start last I heard lacazette was 42m and it was only 2 seasons ago lacazette wasn't hitting double figures. let's not forget aswel he plays in Ligue Poono but i suppose he's the name being passed around as tge next big thing so hey he must be. And as for your moobie u can jog on, u may even lose them as a result of said jog

If Lewandawski is available for this mythical £35m then I'll go and pick him up from Munich after I've dropped Evans off at arsenal!!
Benteke is a good player and offers something different, but HB hit it on the head when he said that benteke is not the type of player we need to fit in the system. Lewandawski on the other hand is something special. If he's available then we should do our utmost to get him. World class.

Fully agree schmid but like u say this fee is mythical and as long as we get a top striker proven to score goals i will be happy. Obvs lew would be the no1 choice i'd say on par with muller for me but they are hard to get and other alternatives can still be positive.
