It was a somewhat underwhelming performance in the first half. The only attacking option seemed to be push the ball out to Martial and see if he can beat the two defenders on him.

But that said I really don't see how it was that much different to many of SAF's European forays. And, considering the distance travelled, the conditions, and the fact that we're playing 2 games a week with a limited squad, the manner of our play in the second half was quite commendable. Conserving some energy for this weekend's match is not such a bad idea, and 1-1 in Moscow against an unbeaten team is not a bad result. The next round is still entirely within our own grasp.

It wasn't a great game but was a good result.

We have a very short squad and we must keep the players fresh.

Funny thing, people are always looking for something to criticise. Let's hope for a good display and win on Sunday.
