Some of you fans on here are getting as bad as Liverpool fans.

Depay, although he played very well last season, is young and learning to cut it in a new league.

He was PSV talisman last season and this season is playing in an under performing United side that has no consistency in performance or in lineup.

002 and many dutch football experts have said he clearly wasn't ready for the move and perhaps that is what we are seeing now.

He has shown glimpses, he played well at the beginning of the season with a quality left back behind him.

But barely one season in and we're seeing our own fans wishing him gone. Completely and utterly disgraceful IMHO, the lad was never going to light up the league coming from an inferior league.

Instead of nitpicking at his lifestyle, which in all honest I would live that way on his wages, what about supporting the lad? Regardless of his fancy cars etc he needs the backing of the fans.

Question his performances by all means, but consistency is something that comes with experience. The lad needs to be cut some slack, if it was Martial would he be ostracised like this? Nope I don't think so and so I agree that some have an agenda against Memphis.

I can understand how 002 considers our fans to be toxic. It's pathetic.

RedDon Depay is being criticised because of his performances and lack of interest on the pitch. I don't buy this whole thing that he is so young and comes from an inferior league so he gets a bye for the season. Martial is young but yet he applies himself and also came from a foreign league.

I have seen many young players who have came from an "inferior league" (your opinion) light up the PL none more so than a certain Luis Suarez who came from the same "inferior league" a few years ago. When a player is signed for £30million he is a player for today not tomorrow.

Again nobody is hating on Depay to be mean to the lad they are just critiquing his performances like they do every other player on the pitch.

Suarez had a few good seasons in Holland and even he took 18 months to get going. I'd say 99% of fans were very optimistic about Memphis signing and admittedly he hasn't been great but these things happen. It's all about how he handles next year. What he doesn't need is people like you writing him off because of a bad season and especially because he made a video! Quite frankly, anyone having a go at him over that video just shows the desperation yous would sink to to lynch your own.

1. He was used as an attacking outlet at PSV so he didn't have to defend as much - he is learning how to work at both ends of the pitch.

2. Suarez signed in 2010 at 23, and had 2 quiet seasons (in his second he got 11 in 31 - hardly lighting up the league) .

3. Suarez went to a has been club with a whole lot less pressure, in terms of world attention and in terms of timing. People thought Depay would be the messiah here after a few bad seasons and he just wasnt ready - YET.

Disagree that he shows a lack of interest - who knows what happens in training but on the pitch he tries things, always congratulates his teammates (when we rarely score) and seems popular with the team.

I don't think many if any of us want depay gone. First of all the lifestyle is irrelevant for me and there have been circumstances which have gone against depay which were out of his control.

For example we should have recruited an experienced forward to ease the burden on martial and depay and the style of the play does not suit depays game at all.

But i do disagree with the point about martial. If he was playing like depay is then we would be on his case much the same as we are with depay. The fact of the matter is that martial has been a revelation this season and has shown great maturity to shoulder a large burden of the attacking side of the team.

You rarely see his head go down in games or not show for the ball or try to attack his full back or track and help the team defend which depay has been guilty of this season when he's been in the team.

Also its not just martial out of the youngsters who have displayed the right attitude and application. The likes of borthwick-jackson, lingard, rashford, varela and fosu-mensah may not have the same level of quality as depay but at least they look they're trying and are playing their role dilligently and that is what most fans want to see.

Depays lifestyle is none of our business i certainly wouldn't be conceited enough to tell someone how to live their life and would not appreciate being told how to live mine.
This should purely be about football and my belief is given time we have a fabulous footballer who will light our stadium up.

Anyone who has written the lad off this early is just a bit embarrassing, he has shown in certain games what he can do just not consistently enough. I am yet to see this lack of effort I keep hearing about, I think he lacks something when tracking back but that is because it is not something he has ever had to do before, it is not natural to him, not that he is not trying to do it.

Mumbles who has written him off? At this moment I have seen nothing to make me think he is a potential superstar but I am happy to be proved wrong and have said many times we should see how he goes next season.

He's rubbish and should be made live in a tent in Carrington and train for 18 hours a day until he's as good as Ronaldo. Because we all know there are two categories of player - Ronaldo quality or complete s**t. And let's be honest he's 22 now and if you aren't getting near Ronaldo quality at this stage you might as well go work at the local chippy. Martial has adapted to the EPL and that proves that any player who doesn't immediately adapt to a new league is complete dog s**t. Let's sell him now and spend the money on some perspective.

I remember when people used to say Ronaldo was rubbish and slate his diamond earrings.

It turns out Memphis has given us a greater return in his 1st season than Ronaldo did too

That Mezut Ozil looks alrite in his THIRD season

Just saying.

So what if he doesn't end up playing like Mesut Ozil in three years time and is more like Anderson? Will you still be singing his praises then?

From a business point of view he gets one more year and if he doesn't cut the mustard you try to get as much capital for him as possible before his stock deteriorates.

Just got a sneaky feeling Jose is going to turn him into a mega star. That is if he is installed as manager on the 10th of June. 😆😆.

Memphis was doing well with shaw as he didn't need to defend much as shaw was always back and forth. His injury has affected Memphis a lot imo.
