It's not whether lvg, giggs, blanc, is the manager of our club right now. The availability of jose should change everything! Mancity have signed pep, and we have to make sure we get the only guy who has beaten him over the course of an entire season, especially now that he is unemployed! Yes it might be unfair on lvg if we win the fa cup. But it was unfair on huynkes (pardon the spelling) who just won the treble and it is kind of unfair on pellegrini who won the league cup and is 90 mins away from a cl final. Sometimes it has to be done and i would be shocked if the board did not take this into consideration. As for the reported charlton problems with mourinho i doubt he will be amused by what lvg said today.

The decision to relieve LVG of his role was made in late January when we were playing pants and the availability of a certain Portuguese coach. When has Mourinho been this quiet in all the years he has been in football, he knows where he is going and so do the press. I think LVG will retire instead of a public sacking though. It's a results business and Mourinho is a master of grinding out a win from nothing . I can't wait for the big names being unveiled alongside Mourinho 😆😆.

Mourinho in my opinion is nailed on

I hope so but I just have the feeling the owners will stick with LVG it can't be hard to dazzle them with footballing philosophy when they know nothing about the game. I just don't see how they have stood by him through every disaster to sack him at the end of the season.

I don't really get what the fuss about mourinho is about yes he bring short term success but at the same time he cause problems with players and staff. Like for instance his last stint with Chelski. Champions to near on relegation. That doesn't happen for no reason! I'd much rather a manager that has proven it at a smaller club and has achieved rather then a mange that has achieved with championship winning clubs with money to burn. Therefore my managers that I would like to succeed lvg are Ronald koeman and Eddie howe.

BFRO - If that was the case then why not just bring Mourinho in in January? We could still have pushed for the title back then or at the very least secured a top 4 finish. The money saved by waiting until LVG has failed to achieve top 4 before sacking him will be lost twice over in missing out on qualification.

BFRO is correct there. It was a mutual decision between the club and LVG. Also Jose wanted a clean start rather than taking on in January and tarnishing the rapport.

Ed2 said this much himself in Feb. So no surprises there.

I read somewhere that even the press haven't got a clue as to what's going on. They are saying that they have never known such a big event to be happening and there are no leaks anywhere. Its all ver secret. For Jose to be so quite and reject so many offers from big clubs, you have to think he's all set in his mind.

I personally hope so but I get the feeling lvg will continue.
Dannyc, "all the fuss about mourinho"? Is it because he's one of the top two managers around and the other has just signed a 3 year deal with City.
When mourinho was at Porto, they hadn't done anything and he won them the treble including CL. He repeated the fate at inter. Then he beat Pep when Barcelona had the best team in the world. And he won the title for Chelsea after 54 years in the doldrums.
That's what the fuss is all about!

Dannyc, Eddie Howe? Really? did you take your doses on time?

You realize we are speaking of Manchester United here, not Newcastle United.

Lets look at some of the top managers in england
Pochettino, klopp, pep are managers who all but guarantee a top 4 finish. let's not leave out the master of top 4 wenger, if he stays and you never know what ranieri will pop up with. Also conte will be looking for a top 4 at least and i assume chelsea will splash the cash this summer. Does anyone honestly think utd will even finish in the top 4 with lvg especially with those kind of managers in opposition teams? got to be someone better and i can't think of anyone but mr portuguese for the job.
