I hope we sign pogba but the hype and valuation are nuts.
Petit is right when he says pogba could be a great player but isn't one yet .
Its not very often i have seen him be juves or france best player .
He looks like he has the lot, with out really doing it on the pitch .

Juve have just signed pjanic who imo had a better season .

There aren't that many great players out there imo not a zidane ronaldo ronaldinho .
The best striker in the epl last year was vardy, who was playing non league not long ago, the best cm kante from the french 2nd div, most creative with a bit of magic, the 10 mill payet. Add marhez in there .

I like schneiderlin but to honest he is a good player compared to whos out there, kean would of walked over the top of him .

Pogba is a decent player a good player infact but he still has a lot to do to reach the top level.
He had a decent season scored 8 goals and someone might pay 100 mill for him . And it is the same with other players average players cost 30 mil good players 40 plus .

There is a lack of top top talent coming thro i think the euros showed that.

I agree in most respects although I simply don't rate him as high as most seem to. As I said last week I've never seen him be the best player on the pitch. It worries me if we are really going to spend so much money on someone who is still, to my mind, unproven.

If you look at him just as a player, discount the price, I think he'd be a great signing for us. His attributes are some that we are really missing in midfield.

But he is suffering as are many other young players from the fact that we are coming out of one of the greatest generations of footballers we've had. Ronaldo, Messi, Xavi and Iniesta all in my opinion are the best ever in their position or very close to being. The next generation of players who can become the worlds best will likely never reach the level of those that preceded them, but will be valued at the same premium because they are the best available.

I don't get it either - especially this view that we should pay £100m 'just because we can'. I know its not our money and all that blah blah blah.
I don't know if the reported figure of £100m is even close to being accurate. But for me, if we are prepared to pay anything close to that it says 2 things about our club.
1 - we are desperate
2 - we are stupid

We have wasted more than enough money over the last couple of years as it is in making 'statement' signings. The way to prove that we are still one of footballs superpowers is to build a team for the long term, with players that will run through walls to play for the club and be proud to wear the shirt. Not by paying fees and wages - that no other team in the world will match - just to sign the next big name mercenary who is here for the cash but would rather be somewhere else.
I probably sound like a broken record on this topic, but United have sold their soul to the devil, and in doing so we have completely lost our identity.
But sadly, that can also be said for. football in general.

I really hope we don't sign him. i think we have lost our way as a club chasing players like him that are grossly over priced. good player but not worth a world transfer record.
