Things are looking pretty good atm I think we can all agree?

We apparently also have statistically the best run of games though the busy festive period too which is a bonus.

Ibra has obviously been amazing so far and I would not be surprised at all if he could be the main man net season as well for us up front. I'm interested though ti see what people think should be the game plan after that.

I'd love it to be Rashford but I think even if it is we probably need to be looking to bring in another top striker even to push him on a bit.

Who if anyone do we reckon should be the guy to come in as a striking option?

Griezmann would be the man for me.

I'd love Griezmann GDS and there seems to be some smoke there which is exciting too. He's not a traditional striker though and in an ideal world I'd love him playing in from the right and someone like Lewandowski (obviously not realistic as just signed a new deal) up top.

Just wondering if there are maybe some options I'm missing for strikers.

What about martial, playing wing now but definitely a forward jn the making and equally a very young man.

I really like Griezmann, but I'm not sure if he is quite right for this emerging United side.

Griezmann plays his best football is a 9 and a half kind of role playing with a more traditional No.9. He isn't a centre forward, his best stuff comes from playing between the lines, as either an inside forward or playing in a loose No.10 giving him the freedom to wander and find space.

That doesn't really suit a classic Mourinho side which requires everyone to work hard defensively or this current United side which is drifting more to a three man midfield meaning only the centre forward or one of the wider roles is available for him. As stated he isn't great as an out and out centre forward role, and with competion from Matial, Rashford, Lingard, Mata and Mkhitaryan in the wider roles.

As we saw at the world cup you need a three man midfield to get the best out of Pogba, but need to play 4231 to get the best out of Greizmann. France are struggling to get the best out of the two of them and seem to have to choose between the two. Therefore spending probably a new world record fee or at least close to in order to have the same problem seems a little silly.

Personally I'd prefer to see us sign a young talented wide player to replace to seemingly departing Depay, keep Zlatan for another season and push both Rashford and Martial to challenge for the CF position. Then address the situation at the end of bext season, have one or both Martial and Rashford kicked on? Do we then need to bring in either a player to lead the line as first choice or do we need a squad player to offer competition or something different maybe someone more like a target man.

Sorry GDS, he has a girlfriend and they recently had a baby together. Don't worry, plenty more fish in the sea.

Good point Shappy, Martial could feasibly be that guy. The most pressing issue then maybe is a Carrick replacement.
We clearly need a midfield 3 and everything good stems from him but like Ibra he can't go on forever, maybe the big money shouldl be spent there if anywhere?
