Agreed we are only 2 points off second but we have a very difficult games in May we will need to in the top four by then that will be crucial, we could still finish second.

I think we will finish 2nd, I also don't think the points difference will be huge without being wasteful this season we would be nailed on for the league imo.

{Ed007's Note - I mistype on the live chat that I was 100% confident United would at least finish 2nd - I meant 4th - but if a couple of results go Utd way 2nd isn't impossible I don't think. Liverpool winning yesterday was a bit of a spanner in the works I didn't see coming, I thought the best they could have hoped for was a point from Spurs.}

Agreed bond yesterday could have gone better for us what with the sanchez goal and spurs being spurs but I think we can only blame ourselves finishing chances has been an issue and imo one of the only dark spots in a very encouraging season so far I still expect we will be a lot closer to the eventual winners than we are now and I think come may the majority of United fans will be pretty happy .
Hope I'm right .

{Ed007's Note - I'm not sure I would know what to do if the majority on here were happy. You've got me worried now :-D

I think it will be just as close come May as it is now so the important thing for those two away games is that we don't lose. Draws could be sufficient in both if we are 2nd/ 3rd.

It would be great if the chasing pack was closer to Chelsea. It'd be the most exciting title race ever. We could see that next year.

After City tomorrow, only Liverpool and Spurs play again in February and all games they'd expect to win.

We have favourable fixtures in March, whilst Arsenal go to Annfield, Spurs host Everton and Liverpool visit City. If we do the business in March we will be in a similar or better position in the table with games in hand on Spurs and Liverpool and should be confident of Top 4 from there.

There are some massive games in April too, including us hosting Chelsea. We have a very tricky May but it's entirely feasible that with so many big games before it may no longer be 5 teams after 3 CL spots by then. it's a funny old game. Will be exciting for the neutral.

The run of games going into May seem quite favourable. Just hope we can capitalise and gets the points on the board. If we could go into May off the back of a run of consecutive wins, it could give us huge confidence going into those games.

May is going to be an epic month of football.

{Ed007's Note - I know man, Celtic winning the treble is going to be immense.}

At the moment we are 3 points of the top from a practical sense if you look at our goal difference compared to the teams above us. We need a couple of big scores with the chances we are creating that should be coming sooner or later.

Your lads are playing some good football, Ed007. They deserve all their plaudits. Just hope they can keep that side together for next season and have a decent run in Europe. Nothing like Celtic park on Champions league night.

{Ed007's Note - Thanks mate, it's nice to to talk to someone who doesn't just sneer down their nose at smaller leagues without knowing anything about it.
That's the hope, that we can keep the players we have and add 1 or 2 of the same quality of Simunovic, Tierney, Sinclair, who is unrecognisable as the same player, and Dembele. And I'd love to see us sign Paddy Roberts permanently.
Look, I'm realistic, I know Celtic aren't going to win the CL but a I'll argue all day that a club our size and with our money should be aiming as a minimum to drop down to EL in 3rd place and with the occasional 2nd place qualification if we get a lucky draw. It's finally starting to look like the Club have decided to raise the bar by spending on quality and the fans expectations have risen along with the new approach.}

Bond, I hope that wasn't a not-so-subtle dig at me :)

{Ed007's Note - It was just a generalisation mate, I wouldn't be so petty as to do that. Every now and then you'll see arguments from supporters from clubs like Southampton and West Brom who are adamant that they are a bigger club than Celtic because we 'only play in Scotland' and they have millions of TV money. They probably think they're bigger than your Newcastles, Aston Villas and even Leeds because they're in the Championship now
If the league's that rubbish then why have Southampton gave us over £30 million for players in the last couple of years, Dembele being linked with £40m moves to top EPL and European teams and Kieran Tierney who is being watched by everty big clubs in Europe including Bayern Munich.
These smaller clubs in England might have more money than Celtic but they're spending it on absolute shite, £10 million on Robert Snodgrass? I'd have been raging if Celtic had signed him on a free transfer
How good would say Arsenal be if they joined the SPL and only had the same budget as an Aberdeen or Hamilton - how many supporters would pay £1000s in season tickets then? Now switch that and imagine what Aberdeen could do with Arsenal's TV money? Celtic are already one of the best known clubs in the world and woud be devastating if they had the monies available to your Utds and Chelsea, remember we have 2 serious billionaires on our board, an ex bank of England director and even a f***ing Tory Lord in there!
Celtic get something like £2 million (TWO) in TV money for winning the league yet our projection of turnover next year is £100+ million, look at the money going into the EPL and clubs are still riddled with debt, the only club in any real financial trouble is The Rangers. MOst Scottish clubs are now ran within their means, something else English teams seem to struggle with. These so called big clubs that would sell their soul (club colours and badges) just so they can stay in the EPL and collect the money, they have no interest in improving, survival and collecting money is the be all and end all of their ambition.
If people have watched Scottish football and don't like it then that's fine, as I said the other day I find 99% of the English football I watch total garbage and would rather watch the Bundesliga or La Liga in that order, but if you're only looking at Scottish football and forming your opinion from what you read or see the 'experts' on TV say then you're forming an opinion from a point of complete ignorance.
Money might buy you shite like Snodgrass for £10 million but it can never buy you class and it certainly can't buy the kind of respect Celtic have all over the world.}
