I've always considered utd a superclub along with Barcelona Munich and Madrid, A list players such as bonnucci varane kroos bale lewandowski seem to be beyond our reach now and I have to Google some names linked instead, we will spend the same as other superclubs but seem to go to the b list, good players but not quite the real deal, Madrid and Barcelona don't seem to accept they can't take star players from other teams, I was glad the pogba signing proved the hope is still there.

I know! Completely agree. I mean who the hell are ibrahimovic or miki? before this year I had never heard of them.

True Slate - but even the Pogba deal looks a bit 'fishy' now if the rumors are to be believed. Maybe team Pogba wanted to go elsewhere as well but we were the only club willing to oblige with their "suspicious" demands, who knows.

Just as important as CL football is players feeling they can advance their careers playing for us and enjoy their work. Very few elite players would honestly look at what Jose is doing with the team and think "hmm give me some of that". Brand Man Utd is slowly dieing for elite players, but I think we will be stuck overpaying for potential, less well known or declining stars, until we can regather our prestige.

Huh? Last summer we signed Zlatan, Pogba, Mkhitaryan and Bailly. The first 3 are amongst Europe's elite, the latter being one of footballs's hottest prospects at centre back.

If anything, we signed more "names" last summer than we did in the previous 5 combined. We have very rarely signed superstars. We sign players o the brink, young talent ready to take the step up. This has mostly been the case for decades. Strange post.

Disagree. We can afford absolutely anyone and regularly sign superstars. There is one thing we can't compete with Real or Barcelona for and that is climate and lifestyle.

Beast do you enjoy football?

Walrus - When teams try to win yes, especially when they look like a team rather than a bunch of strangers thrown together, more bothered about their PR than doing what they are paid to do, and that goes for the manager as well as the players. Watching Utd at the minute is just like watching England (or worse), so I am not enjoying our football no.

I just don't let my bias cloud my judgement, two decent games on tonight I think - then another sleep inducer tomorrow night no doubt.

"When teams try to win" There are many ways which teams can win that may be deemed as unattractive but still nonetheless them trying to win. We know you do not like Jose, but I am 100% certain that he has never sent a team out to lose.
"doing what they are paid to do" They are paid to do PR so that point is invalid, to say the least, I'm not going to dissect this flawed comment any further.
"I just don't let my bias cloud my judgement" "then another sleep inducer tomorrow night no doubt. " That is your own bias clouding your judgement right there you are not going in with a clear and open mind you are going into it with negative thoughts so again you have again contradicted your own post.
I know you enjoy moaning about football more than watching the game its self, but please can you just tone down the negativity slightly I personally, and I'm sure others would also, appreciate it.

This is not a personal attack so please don't take it that way it's merely a request to lighten up and smile a little.

I actually did want Jose, I have no problem with Jose technically.

I do currently have a problem with his lack of confidence in the team and the moody attitude he has had since he joined. We have the Jose that Chelsea sacked, I want the Jose that Chelsea hired and I thought we were hiring.

We needed somebody with balls and the winning mentality, Jose maybe is a little too defensive for me in a perfect world, but we needed an organiser. We got somebody who is an LVG doppel ganger, great CV and lacking that something special that got them to where they are. My worry is we are all expecting it to click just like we did with LVG, but we should all know that it doesn't happen like that sometimes and we are regressing now. He started slow, had a decent month leading up to Xmas and it has been absolute dross since then.

Nobody thought Europa League would be needed for CL, nor should they have.

My bias is toward praising Man Utd the club I have supported all my life, I imagine that is identical to everybody else on here. So that is why I ignore the Utd blinkers on here, otherwise it will just be an echo chamber with us all talking about how great we can be and how good Jose will eventually be, etc etc etc.

I am smiling as I type this, does that count? I'm one of the first to praise the team and manager when we play well, the reason you don't see it too often kind of is my point!

Walrus, he may never have sent out a team to lose, but do you honestly think he sent us out to win the game against City or Arsenal?
