Still buzzing from last night, what a way to celebrate another year through my medicine degree for me as well and a mental boost the whole city needed. Genuinely excited for a transfer window for a change and it's actually got me reading the papers again so here's what I reckon we need.

Griezemann
Bakayoko
Lindelof
Sanchez (Ajax CB - yes it is based on the final but he had Rashford in his pocket which premier league cb's struggle with)
A young winger/ attacking mid - Bernardo Silva comes to mind.

Ship out Smalling, Lingard, Fellaini and Rooney and barring De Gea or Herrera leaving we would be challenging on all fronts.

{Ed004's Note - Keep up the good work in your degree I know from relations and friends that it is a tough course but good luck. I disagree with Sanchez though. I thought he was poor last night. It was obvious that our game plan was to let him build up from the back. He was rash and got caught out of position far too often. He could've conceded a penalty to Pogba, no fouls were being called on Rashford and he was very fortunate that Rashford didn't pick his pocket on the edge of his own box. I also think his playing style would clash with Bailly and his partner De Ligt was better and a better fitting for Bailly}

Commentators were saying last night Ajax regard Sanchez as the best CB they've had since Jaap Stam, but from what I hear they have highest hopes for de Ligt. Said it before the game last night, Sanchez will go to Barcelona within a year or two.

I agree with the ED here, thought he looked pretty average generally with a definite mistake or 2 in him. That challenge on Lingard was class but was one incident.

{Ed001's Note - didn't the challenge on Lingard come from Sanchez giving away the ball in the first place? Virtually every other challenge he made did. Sanchez looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights to me. By the way it is more likely Barca buy Uruguay U20 defender Sebastian Bueno than Sanchez. He is partnering a Real Madrid centre half in the U20s World Cup right now and they have been trying to get a deal done for a while. Sanchez is just one of a hundred young defenders they are watching.}

Sanchez looks like a more raw version of bailly and looks to have no more potential than tuanzsbe to me.
If Jose has identified a short list then I'd be happy with those names he does know how to pair up centre backs.
Usually whomever we buy we over pay for so The price does not concern me nor the name or reputation. It's all about the right fit and Jose will know what / who he wants.

Ken,

Tuanzebe has bags of potential and there isn't a young defender I rate higher than him potential wise other than maybe Fosu-Mensa and possibly Reece Oxford if he joined a nurturing club such as Southampton. (Premier league young defenders only I should add) . Still see the potential in Stones also if he focuses more on actually tackling and defending and worries less about his apparent good on the ball ability. Terry had good on the ball ability but it was never mention due to his immense leadership nd tackling so if he focuses on that he's up there too.

That was my point avid why sign Sanchez when we already have tuanzbe?

Upon looking again I can see how it may have been one match fever. However this is why i stated buying Lindelof also as we have a ready made cb to slot next to Bailly and there's not many defensive coaches better than Jose to help develop Sanchez as even though he is far from the finished product his potential is glaringly obvious with the right tutor.

Cheers for the well wishes ed. A good season for united will go along way to helping me through my course haha.

{Ed004's Note - I wouldn't be opposed to Sanches if he was being brought in as an understudy but we also have Tuanzebe coming through and a lot of positions that need strengthened this summer. Hopefully, we see a lot of improvement next season}
