Does anyone have any idea how Rashford is going to be used this year. If Ibra didn't get injured then he wouldn't have got a look in. However I'm not convinced he's a premier league winning Striker that will get you 20+ goals a season. Just wondering what everyone else thinks.

{Ed007's Note - Incoming................ Get your tin hat on, Danny boy!}

He was getting plenty of a look in before Zlatan got injured, Jose trusts him but I agree with you as it stands I don't think he's a 20 goal a season striker. I think he will be used in a fast front 3 most of next season.

Yeah it's so obvious he isn't going to be that player at the grand old age of 19. Let's get rid now while we can get at least some money for him.

I know how he's going to be used but I'm not telling you.

Sorry I meant to say he's not a 20 goal a season player YET. I know he's got bags of quality and is only going to get better but for next season will he be used more as a winger maybe as I don't see him being our prolific goal scorer that we can relay on next season.

{Ed007's Note - My flabber will be gasted if Rashford ever scores 20 goals in one season with anyone let alone Utd.}

I don't want to agree with you but I think I do. However it's really early to tell how he will progress but he looks more like a quick winger that will chip in a few goals rather than deadly striker. Having said that since Zlatan joined he has looked the part at times. Maybe he just needs the right coaching and someone like Zlatan tro learn off.

{Ed007's Note - In a couple of years time he'll be replaced by some £100 + million next superstar and the Utd fans will be saying Rashford's not even a good squad player. Players that come through clubs academies always get an easier ride from fans.}

6.) 31 May 2017
31 May 2017 05:44:28
Rashford may or may not turn out to be the real deal, he has shown flashed of brilliance but is not yet consistent enough. However, Jose, who is not famed for his trust of young players clearly sees something in him which suggests a bright future. I think we should just let the kid develop and see what has happens.

Isn't Rashford's natural position as a right winger?

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

I think I am one of the few that has doubts about Rashford. Watching him recently he frustrates me a bit, in the way that whenever he runs with the ball he tends to run directly at defenders rather than past them. He runs into the back of them, compare him to Martial in the way that he glides past players with his pace. Rashford seems to be a bit less refined in this and fouls a lot when he collides with people. Once he sorts this out I think he will be what everyone hopes he can be.

He is only 19 guys. No he may not become the player we think he could, but we can't say he won't do this or do that just yet. Let him develop and see where he ends up. He may become an Henry or he may become a Welbeck. Who knows.

10.) 31 May 2017
31 May 2017 10:30:38
Rashford is already as good as welbeck probably already better and welbeck shouldn't of been sold. So there is no reason in my mind why rashford can't AT LEAST be a really good squad player for many seasons i repeat at least! He has a good 4 years of development to go. Should he be first choice next season? Probably not but out of our current squad yes.

11.) 31 May 2017
31 May 2017 08:23:13
Bond, I'll take that bet. Rash to score 20 goals in one season by 2020.

{Ed007's Note - If Rashford scores 20 EPL goals a season before the 2019-20 season ends I'll buy you the new Utd top for the next season. As long as I don't get my pants pulled down with post & packing costs to send you it right enough.}

12.) 31 May 2017
31 May 2017 10:41:50
007 come on bond is this tongue in cheek or do you really not see what a fantastic player this lad is going to be.

{Ed007's Note - Not tongue in cheek at all. All I see is another Danny Welbeck or Tom Cleverley or one of the countless other youngsters posters and the media said were going to be the next big thing for Utd and England. Rashford will get pushed further down the pecking order as Utd spend more and more money on big name players.}

For me we currently need to top out and out striker. I have mentioned previously that I think someone in the Drogba mould who will pull the defenders about is needed for Jose (Belloti / Lukaku) seem to be the most likely.
If we play 4231 or 433 then I see Rashford getting game time on the right side potentially in alternate to Miki. Or as our second choice striker up top.
Cant help but feel 10-15 goals is Rashfords level for next year.

TBH ED007 Rashfords technical ability Ian far superior to that of jelly legs Wellbeck. CLeverley was just a neat passer of the ball (sideways) .
Rashford has far more potential, but like a lot of young players he needs to work on that potential.
Something to note; I find that Rashford buts a lot of graft in when others don't. Life would be easier for him is others pulled up their socks and got stuck in.

{Ed007's Note - If he's got so much ability and potential why isn't everyone demanding he starts as first choice striker? It's just people trying to fit him into the team with the same excuses used for Welbeck about playing him out wide 'until he's ready' etc. The fans would soon forget him if Utd bought a new multi million £ right winger.}

ED007 it's more to do with appeasing the fans with a big name signing. Most fans start drooling if you mention Griezmann to Utd.
Rashford is young and he alone can not carry the burden of scoring goals. This season has been more of a learning curve to develop his overall game.
Look at City with Aguero, Jesus, KDB, Iheanhincho. Chelsea have Costa and Hazard. Look at Juve, Duvall and Higuian, RM with Ronaldo, Benzema, Bale, Barcelona with MSN.
Utd as of yet don't have top players up front. If Utd want to win the league and CL quality additions are a must.
It's like me saying Tierney is nothing more than an average lb because he plays for Celtic.
Poor investment or indeed a lack of investment will see teams fall behind. Yes we've spent a lot of money but no wisely.

{Ed007's Note - That's my whole point mate. Rashford will be replaced with a big money signing meaning a) he won't be a regular for Utd and b) he won't be happy with that and will look to move on.
Will Rashord's goal scoring record at 24 be comparable to Lukaku's is? Not a chance in hell simply because I don't see Rashoford getting the opportunity. Utd aren't going to challenge for the top trophies with players like Rashford, Jones, Smalling etc Look at how people on here raved about Smalling even when Ed001 and myself were saying that Utd were set up to protect the CBs because of Smalling's many weaknesses.}

The boy is only 19 and he is "frustrating" some and others don't think he'll make it?! What in God's name are some of these posters talking about? Rashford is 19 years old, he's had just over a season in top flight, give the poor boy a chance.
When Ronaldo came to United, he was brilliant at dribbling but bad with crossing and decision making. Then as he matured, he learned when to cross and when to dribble or shoot. This comes with experience.
Give Rashford a chance and I have no doubt this kid will be top notch in less than three years.

17.) 31 May 2017
31 May 2017 13:05:15
I've said it before and i will say it again, Rashford should be our main striker, he's ready, if he would play for Juventus or Monaco most of United fans would be going nuts to sign him. He is one of the world greatest youngsters right now. Get Griezmann and maybe Bale to play behind Rashford and Martial.

18.) 31 May 2017
31 May 2017 13:34:53
One of the worlds greatest young strikers? If Rashford was our main striker we will struggle for the foreseeable, he is fast and does make intelligent runs but he cannot control the ball, cannot pass the ball, cannot dribble - consistently running past the ball, refuses to challenge aerially and isn't the best finisher. Squad player with potential at the moment but needs to start getting the simple things right.

19.) 31 May 2017
31 May 2017 14:41:04
Remanutd you've hit the nail on the head there. If he had a fancy name and played in a foreign league some would be saying he's worth £50m.

20.) 31 May 2017
31 May 2017 14:14:03
ED007 I agree with you, originally misunderstood you. It's a sign of the times. Smalling he has pace etc but he doesn't cut the mustard and Utd look better with Rojo and Bailly as a CB pairing.
Are their any teams interested in Smalling and or Jones?

{Ed007's Note - Not that I know of sorry.}
