Sly reporting we've snubbed a £60m offer for De Gea. If true, I hope we don't sell for any price. What's the point in selling the worlds best GK? Anybody we sign to replace him would be a downgrade, thus weakening the team. We need to strengthen not weaken. We don't need the money, so let's just reject the lot.

Maybe you're also keeping the wishes of your player in mind. If he really wants to join Madrid then the club might take that into account.

I know people would be upset to lose de gea but if it made Madrid more likely to be open for business for players like varane, kroos and bale would people accept it, if they weren't I'd be firmly in the tell them no chance club but if players like that were opened up to utd and the transactions were fair would they be willing to let de gea go.

De Gea is the best shot stopper in the world. But he's not the best at commanding his area or talking to the defence. So there are pro's and cons in that debate.
But if it meant getting Verane and Kroos, then I'll sell de Gea.
Only problem is City have just bought the best young GK around, Moraes from Benfica. So as usual, we're one step behind.

Not entirely sure Ederson is the best young keeper around, I would sooner have Oblak who is only 24 and Butland who is the same age is an equally good option. As much as City may sign 6 very good players, we will sign some real quality as well no doubt about it. I suspect it may be Semedo, Lindelof, Fabinho, Perisic, and either a top centre forward or Griezmann. And I think we would all agree that would be a fantastic window.
