Firstly I'm right behind Jose, but I've seen people lauding this season as a massive success when in truth its somewhere in the middle.

To start the community shield (or whatever it's called) is not a real trophy. It's a competitive friendly to open a new season.

Aside from that, no team should be to high and mighty to not celebrate a league cup win, ok it's not a league title or Fa cup but its still a domestic trophy, where all league teams enter to win it and your the last left. It's served a lot of team well over the years too.

Next the Europa league win was great, we only had one European trophy to go for this season and we won that. Sure its the 2nd tier European cup to win but that's all that was on the table and clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool (and Chelsea in recent times), have never turned down any chance to grab a cup and give the fans chance to celebrate.
I remember under LvG and the 2 games in the Europa against Liverpool, I was so angry with the way we approached both games.
I'm happy we now have a manager that understands this.

The League performance was at times was disgraceful, Yes I use that term because drawing as many home games as we did, is. Of course we can point at opposition goalkeepers having the games of their lives at times but none the less, there have been plenty of times goalkeepers have turned up at Old Trafford and had great games and still lost by a few. There can be excuses for the odd game here and there but to score the amount of goals we did this season is nowhere near good enough and that has to change fast.

Now I see Ibra may out of the kindness of his heart, stay with us one more season picking up a hefty pay packet while out injured till January. What a man hey?

So to finish it was an awful league campaign but with great moments of celebration.
Winning trophies can only ever be considered a good thing for any club but next season I expect a lot more in the league and a decent CL campaign.
We are not a million miles away as some think but we do need to improve key areas or these problems will remain.

Ctr United will be 1 million and 1 miles away if de gea leaves for sunny madrid. World class keepers like defenders are extremely rare these days.

Bit of a silly comment really AL tbh. Clearly goalkeepers are important and a good one can get u a few extra points a season but that statement is wrong mate. I'm not even going to get into a debate about it as the fact you say it, means nothing I say will be any worth to you :)

I'd also say the community shield is a little bit above a competitive friendly, look at the requirements to make that match (fa cup winners / league winners)
Bit like the super cup but domestic .
