Reports in certain quarters say de Gea is happy in Manchester and unless he indicates he wants to leave then I wouldn't accept any amount of money for him, he's the Worlds best.
If he was to leave are we happy enough relying on Romero? Done well in the EL but I've not seen him in a run of games.
To me tho there are bigger priorities now, CB, DM, RW and CF.
I would personally pay whatever is takes to bring Kane and Griezmann in, not saying they are at all possible but they would elevate us to where we aspire to be.
Add Lindelof and Fabinho that's makes for a top squad.
Maybe a window or two after that we upgrade on Toni and we do need to sort the left back issue but I really hope shaw comes back after a good pre season.
Time will tell who our targets actually are of course, here's to silly season folks 🍻.

{Ed004's Note - I don't think Griezmann is a possibility anymore and I think everyone that posts here regularly or views it knows how badly I wanted him. I think we are missing that elite forward ATM that all top 5/6 teams have Sanchez, Hazard, Coutinho, Aguero/KDB/Silva. So I think we need to push for someone like Bale because I don't think Dybala is attainable, or Neymar is, Robben is too old, Reus is too injury prone, Mbappe is unlikely. Potentially not signing Griezmann could see us playing a 433 more often especially if a winger like Bale was signed and maybe could help us get the best out of Pogba in midfield. Hopefully media reports are correct and we are after a winger and a striker. Options of Martial/Mkhitaryan on the left Rashford/St and RW/Mata would be plenty going into next season. Especially because none of them are very injury prone}

Imo even signing a great winger for either side is pointless unless we address the full back positions. We need intelligent running and over lapping from full backs to make space and create time for our attacking players.
Not withstanding a great season Valencia stalls play and turns back too often and we have not had a proper consistent left back for 3 years.
I don't believe we can risk going into the season with shaw as first choice.
Looks like mendy is city bound a very young sessenog spurs bound rose would be a good signing imo. Possibly Tierney and that would give shaw a real fight in last chance saloon.
Lindelof I agree with and fabhino is my no1 wish to sign.
With greizman gone I would love to see either bale or neymar but both near impossible is imagine.
A wild card could be Cavani if they sign aubangyangabingbong
Ddg I'd rather keep.

A Rashford, Belotti and Bale forward line would be tasty in my opinion.

DDG to stay I feel.
We will likely get Lindelof and Verane. Rojo to stay. Darmian may have a role or supporting role to play.
Fel will have another season but more as a sub or even start depending on who we play. Pogba will play a much bigger role backed up by Carrick and Herrera.
Mikki will be key with Lingard supporting. Up front I think we will have Lukaku/ Neymar pending who we get. We may also have a certain Batman on the wings supported by apprentice Rashford.
I see fluidity and more freedom in positions the front 3or 4 playing and more attacking formation and interchangeability.
As to who is going out my guess will like be:
Smalling, Janu, maybe Young, and even maybe Antonio.
Martial is debatable pending attitude and Shaw may have a chance simply because we need defense backup. But Shaw will be last season unless he lose weight and change his attitude. Jose knows he isn't promising but what is the use if you don't know how to maximize your talents and unfortunately a fkup attitude.
My current thoughts and feel. Feel free to disagree and educate me. Thanks.

I think bale is at his best when he plays more centrally just of the striker.

Agreed jred. He's better through the middle. I don't see any chance of us bringing Bale in. The Eds have told us plenty of times he's happy where he is. I agree we lack the real match winner that the others have in Sanchez, Couts, Hazard, Aguero etc. Sadly perisic doesn't do it for me. For the prices quoted he's massively overrated.

Yeah might be a pipe dream for this year AG now mate, I too wanted him the most. Bale I always wanted and still do but worry about how many injuries he picks up. Apart from your list only Perisic been linked in those positions really.

{Ed004's Note - I agree that Bale is better off playing through the middle but whoever plays on our right also comes through the middle anyways the big positive with Bale is the fact that if he stays wide he can still be a threat with his pace}

Ed, do you think there is a slight possibility that Bale might come to United? ed 002, said that Bale doesn't want to leave and Madrid is not looking at selling him either.

{Ed004's Note - I'm hoping so. Think it will be tricky to persuade him}

I must be the only one here who doesn't want bale, he is another injury prone player, we already have enough people who are walking in crutches don't need to add anyone more, madrid will make us over pay and i am sure woodward will somehow manage to include ddg in that deal, a fully fit bale is worldclass but he is as mythical a creature as a fully fit phil jones, he has missed 12,23,27 games respectively in last 3 seasons, those are really bad nos especially when you put the growing injuries trend, i would rather build a team first then look for so called superstars.

Get semedo, the cb from benfica, keane, fabinho, another mf as backup, and may be someone like douglas costa, none of them are superstars but these signings will help us lot more than bale will and more importantly these signings would mean we keep our only worldclass player and don't give him away for a crock to madrid. They have rinsed us enough with the argentine crybaby.

Semedo close to signing for Barcelona aparently. That's two of our top targets gone if he does.

Common. I'm with you on Bale.
I would rather see an out and out winger. Costa from Bayern or Perisic.
And I'll give anything if we can get Sanchez and either Kane or Belotti. I would even go for Sanchez and lukaku.
Also fabinho is a must.
Right back is not urgent. Left back however is a must. Either promote Dimitri Mitchell or buy left back like Rose.

why would tierney want to join a smaller club than the one that he's at ken?

Having read a couple of articles on Bales fitness issues recently I would avoid him like the plague.

His style of play and his previous injuries mean he will continue to struggle to stay fit for a prolonged period of time.

Considering the money he would cost we could buy far more useful players.

If we're looking at wide players I'm surprised no one has suggested Sanchez, Douglas Costa is also a good shout. Bruma is one who could be worth keeping an eye on.
