Tube ride home from work and I thought I'd take my mind of things and post about where I think we are with transfers.

GK: De Gea for me still goes this window, the will they won't they always ends up in 'will'. We will either use Romero as the number one (impressive when he's played this season) or fork out huge sums of money. Oblak, like Griezmann is a non starter. Realistically I expect it would be Navas in a part swap or someone like Hamdanovic. With a stronger team our goalkeeper doesn't need to be the absolute best, is Courtois the best? I'd say not.

Defence: We are clearly looking at central options. Van Dijk is well over priced, injury prone and has a few mistakes in him so will fit in well at Liverpool. Keane would be a great third choice after shopping out Jones and Smalling. Lindelof I believe will be the first option and seems to be fairly valued. City look to have closed in on Bertrand meaning Mendy is there for the taking - I hope we do.

Midfield: I'd like to think we build this around Pogba. This means playing a 3 with an anchor who has to be Fabinho. Rumours suggest we have his ear right now so fingers crossed. No more players needed here, although I'd take a punt on Sanches - too young to write off.

Forwards: I'm waiting for the announcement that Ibra is leaving. All things point to us signing Lukaku as mentioned further down the page - but with interest in Morata also I'd take Morata (unless we can get both) . A double swoop for Morata and James would really set us up for some exciting attacking football next season.

So for me, is hoping Lindelof, Mendy, Fabinho, James and Morata come in. James is perhaps a luxury and the others essential, but we can all hope.

Fresh van dijk is top class. There's no doubt about that. There's a serious shortage of top class central defenders in the world football hence the demand for him.
I've been vocal about this 60 million potential fee and his wages. I think it's disgraceful. in the sense there's so much money in the game yet our ticket prices can't go down and will probably eventually rise again. We are no man united or Madrid where this fee and wages would be reasonable even though he's still over priced. No centre back in the world is worth 60 million. Hopefully it's 50 million even though it's still significant.
As fans we're told forget about the money side but I personally can't.
I'll be delighted if he joins us but I'll always feel a way about the cost. That's not the players fault though. There's just soo much money in the English game that transfer and agent fees are taking the piss.
Him and matip as a defensive duo will be one of the best in world football because both have everything ;)

All i know is that if the deal goes through Liverpool have paid more for a few Southampton players than the Southampton owners paid for the club itself 🤣😂😂😂.

Fresh. If that's our transfer window then we won't make top4 let alone win the league.
We need strengthening in the fullback areas and we also need more athletic players up front and James Rodriguez is not one of them.

Matips far from average stand. Fast, great header, strong and top class on the ball. Van dijk is the perfect partner for him. Lovren was reckless at times.

VvD top class: big, string, skilful, quick.

However, always had question mark over his complacency at times and whether he's always trying his hardest.
