Hi all. i'm e joying reading some of the transfer gossip and reading everybody's options I the various players.
There is a great post below from ed001 putting himself in joses shoes. There have been lots of crazy links here is my opinion on some of the key positions and links.
Firstly ibra. It has to be no extention the correct and right decision.
Lb no really strong links to talk about good news for shaw so far. The silly story i'm hoping has some truth is Rose. Mendy talk is gone quiet even from city
Cb . Depending on how many players we sell from smalling Jones Rojo and blind. The 2 most talked abbot would be keane and lindelof. The latter csn also cover rb very well. He played there for Sweden In the euros. I would be delighted with these 2 signings personally. I can see smalling jones and blind leaving. I would like to see tuanzabe promoted.
Rb. Toni will play and if we sign lindelof sms fabhino then we have adequate top quality cover. I suspect darmian will leave.
Midfield carrick tfm peirera pogba and herrera are sure to stay. Fellaini might be offered an option to leave. If he goes i would like to sign fabhino who is strongly linked. A super footballer technically excellent. I don't lime the reports of nainggolan and his party lifestyle and at 29 the investment required is too steep for a player that won't improve and stepping up 3 levels in pace between the epl and seria a . My preference would be matuidi or as a totally different top class option at the right price fabregas would be a great buy.
Cf. I like moratta. I don't know enough about belotti but many on here and elsewhere rave about him. I would not want lukaku. Moratta
Wide players. Perisic no idea if its a real story. I think he is a class act.
James i'm torn. He is a very good player but i'm not sure he is made of the right stuff.
Greizman sad but it's not to be.
Bale. Not counting it as a story.
Neymar no story
Costa and sanches no story.
Diego costa no story
Ronaldo sorry fresh no story.

All good in an ideal world but what will be, will be my friend. Like the rest of us, keep watching and hoping.

{Ed004's Note - With the prices being quoted for players I would propose to Atletico that we buy Griezmann in January and they could easily replace him with Lacazette and Costa in January. Sign a striker and we would have enough to get by until January. Sort out the defence and midfield this window. Rb, cb, lb, cdm, cm and striker}

Fabinho would be a good and sensible addition to partner pogba in a midfield two or three.

Lindleof and keane don't really improve us in my opinion as i would think that we would be looking at some experience at the back and both are just coming into the early stages of their career like bailly.

Apart from mendy i don't see another left back that would be an upgrade on a combination of shaw, blind and darmian over the season and he doesn't look like arriving at old trafford.

With ibra going we definitely need a striker or wide man depending on where you see martial and rashford playing next season.

So overall i would like to see an experienced centre back, fabinho and a morata/ perisic.

Dont think we need much upheaval this summer as if we keep our players fit next season, have some consistency in team selection and micky and pogba improve in their second season we should be able to challenge for the title.

Would be happy with Rose for LB, at CB I haven't seen a lot of Lindelof but reports seem positive. Keane is a massive no from me. Don't get this love in with him. What has he done to warrant a move back to united? Had an ok season at Burnley. He's no better than Rojo is he. I'd keep rojo, I thought he performed really well at CB this season. Sell Smalling.

Fabinho or Matuidi in CM would be a great signing
Haven't seen enough of Boletti or Morata really, my preference would be Aubameyang
Not overly keen on Perisic, much prefer to attempt to prize Sanchez away, or even Bale. Willian or Douglas Costa would be other options.

Ed 004 if we left it to Jan to sign a striker we would win nothing. We need goals.

{Ed004's Note - I should have made it clearer. I'm assuming we want two forwards this window. Judging by rumours Morata/Belotti and Perisic. I'd rather just sign one of the strikers and wait a couple of months and sign Griezmann in January. We would have Martial, Rashford, Mata, Mkhitaryan and Lingard to cover until then out wide or in the number 10}
