Long time reader first post. I see everyone mentioning Morata/ Belotti and Lukaku to a lesser extent. What I find mind boggling is nobody mentioning Harry Kane. let's say you had £80mil to spend on a striker, I would rather spend the money on Kane who is proven in the league rather on the the others mentioned who would take time to climatise etc. If we had Kane and Rash up front we'd be sorted there for many years to come.
Just my opinion.

Kane is not for sale. Levy would command 120m plus. He is club captain and England captain elect i can't see him wanting a move from his boyhood club ad long add they are competing. I can see him doing a shearer and staying at his dream club for his career.

I registered especially to answer this, because it annoyed me hugely for some reason. Then I find that in that time three people already have. But what the hell. I'm here now.

Basically, I'm with them. The idea we're somehow overlooking an £80m Kane in favour of other, similarly priced options is utter nonsense. Others have mentioned a price of £120m - I think it would be more like £150m (were he even ACTUALLY AVAILABLE), especially if Lukaku goes for anywhere near the £100m quoted. And then I doubt Spurs would sell to a club in the same league, or Levy to us specifically, if they could help it in the slightest. Might as well complain about Woodward not scuttling out of his hole every time there's a rainbow to collect the gold at the end to pay down the debt. No effing gold, no effing rainbow.

Isn't he a spurs fan. I don't see why he would leave.

Spurs are on the up and they are the team on the up. They are the team to beat next season. unless a ridicules amount is offered he is staying at Tottenham.

Why does everyone think that throwing money at a player is all it takes?

Paul Scholes, Totti, Giggs, Gerrard, even Sheared when we tried to get him. Money is only one element. Kane is happy where he is, and why shouldn't he be?

Why would kane want to move?

I'm not convinced by Kane, I think he's a 3 season wonder.

Exactly AJH. Let's see if he can do it in the 4th season. Sometimes it's a case of 3rd season syndrome.

If Kane was to be available he should be first choice. He's already twice the player Morata is. He's better than Belotti and Lukaku as well.

The chances of getting him are zero unless we pay something like £100m. Levy will want crazy money but he might just be in the top 5 strikers in the world right now.

Having read the comments above the chances of landing Kane are zero regardless of how much we pay. I never knew he's a Spurs fan and given how good they are now there's no reason for him to leave.

Those who say we should buy sound like Paul Mersin in sky. He simply isn't for sale this summer.

We wouldn't bid because Kane won't leave is my reading of it. hasn't Danny Rose said only last week some Spurs players might look to move if they feel they can't win what they want at Spurs BUT (now I am paraphrasing what he said) 'Not Kane, he wants to lead Spurs into the new stadium lead them to trophies be Mr Spurs of the modern era '. something along those lines, you can google it from when Spurs played in Australia 10 days ago - as someone says he wants to be the equivalent of Shearer or Totti . Fair play to him.

Thanks SchMidfield. Will try and continue and contribute - maybe a little less grumpily though!

For what it's worth, although I think it would be nigh on impossible for clubs to snaffle Spurs' biggest stars and most vital cogs this summer - the likes of Poch, Alli, Kane, even Dembele, Alderweireld - it remains to be seen what kind of effect a season out of the Champions' League would have on players' loyalty. I'm sure Kane, as a local lad, would be immune to this for at least a couple more years of relative failure, but others might look at the wages on offer elsewhere and be tempted. They might even lose important (though not irreplacable) types such as Walker, possibly Rose, Dier as early as this year. I don't think such sales would hinder the club's progress much short term, but if they did end this season finishing in fifth place say, and lost another two, three in the same manner, it might set in play a typically Spurs-y erosive process that kept them from the very top for another generation. Then Kane might leave. Eventually. But still then probably not to another Premier League side.

Wow. Sorry lads. Almost fell asleep halfway through that myself. Classic, pointless off-season rambling.

tldr: Kane going nowhere, under any circumstances, for two/ three seasons minimum.
