Lads, so after the signing of Lindelof was agreed yesterday, I thought I'd do a bit of research into the player, as I haven't seen too much of him, and share what I found with you lot for anyone who like me doesn't know a lot about him and is interested to know more. I have watched a few YouTube videos but they can make anyone look good.

After reading a lot of different articles, from both past and present footballers, coaches, managers and journalists, it seems everyone thinks we've signed a very good player.

At 6'2" Lindelof is strong and physically imposing, yet still very quick. He is very dominant in the air, has good positional awareness and his tackling technique is very good. If you watch any videos he does seem to time his tackles very well, also shown by the fact he picked up just one yellow card last season. It's rare he loses an arial battle and his physicality should help him adapt to the premier league. He also likes to bring the ball out of defence and is very comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Lindelof can also play RB, so would his signing impact the chances of us signing Semedo? One for the eds. Playing for Sweden U21's in the 2015 European Championships he was named in the team of the tournament. He also converted the winning penalty in the final, showing his composure.

At just 22 him and Bailly could potentially form a good CB partnership with plenty of pace and power, for the foreseeable future. Nobody knows at this moment in time if he will go on to be a great player for us. But all the attributes are there, and I think we should be very excited about his signing. With Marcos Rojo and Dailly Blind as back up, I think we're well stocked in this area now. Time to sell Smalling and Jones who just haven't done enough. On to the next signing Jose .

Thanks Stand. Is he left or right footed?

Right footed but apparently comfortable with both.
Seems comfortable on the ball as well.
Looks to be a good buy. Anything like Bailly and we will be set for the future.
Ferdinand and vidic mk2 ☺️.

Ive heard its his aerial ability that suffers. Non the less l think this is an astute signing and young enough to iron out those deficiencies.

Stand, I am the same as you. Not seen much of him in fact very little. On paper his attributes seem to be there but time will tell what type of player he will be. As I said on another thread it is a little early to be earmarking the lad as the next Rio but heres hoping he can become as good.

Maze, if he becomes half as good as Rio he'll be twice as good as Smalling and Jones.

Considering mist have never seen him play sand that him and bailly have never played together its too early to comparing him to a legend like rio
He has been well scouted highly thought of not an outrageous price In today's market. Lots to be positive about with this signing.
