Well chaps I never thought I'd see the day when we were complaining about the Club spending money certainly not in the Glazer era anyway.

It wasn't that long ago our ambition was being questioned by a certain Mr Rooney and we were constantly being told there was no value in the transfer market. There was a chronic lack of investment in the side following the sale of Ronaldo and whilst Fergi kept us competitive the game was changing and other teams were investing heavily. I can remember us all being up in arms about the perceived penny pinching towards the end of the Fergi era and we didn't make a significant signing until we bagged RVP in what we know now was his final season.

I'm loving the fact that the Club are now spending money and targeting the best players. It's obvious that Jose has identified several targets and the Club are working hard to compete the deals as early a possible.

I trust Jose, he has a plan of how he wants us to play and has targeted the players he thinks can deliver that plan. We've come off the back of winning two major trophies, we have a proven winner in charge, the Club are prepared to back the manager with significant funds and we can compete for the best players.

The competition is fierce, we currently have the best mangers plying their trade in England and all with money to spend. It won't be easy but what I've seen is a commitment from the Club to try and return us to the top. If we're not spending it's only lining the Glazers pockets. Roll on next season, this window is driving us all crazy!

Danny,

It is as if some people will just moan either way isn't it? Surely not!

It is a fine line though isn't it? The money in football is astounding and transfer fees and salaries are only going one way -soon you won't get a jamie vardy or a theo walcott for less than 40 mill -the football world is mad.

I want to see the best players at Utd like we all do, but I don't want the Harlem globetrotters - the thought of us bidding 150 mill or paying someone 500k a week appalls me but probably is only 3 years away.

Kids coming through the system in numbers is probably a pipedream nowadays but I still hope for another Ronaldo, Irwin, OGS, Chicarito, kanchelsis to come in under the radar there is a lot of satisfaction in that.

GDS,

We all moaned when we didn't spend and now we are all looking for value.

The Club has its targets and are working hard to fulfil them.

We've already made one signing and the window isn't even open yet. The ironic part is that we've spent over £30m on a young defender that only has only played two seasons of professional football in a position that we're relatively well covered yet people are outraged that we may spend upwards of £60m for a player that has played in two Champions League finals in recent years for two of the biggest clubs in Europe.

I trust Jose judgement and if that's what we've got to pay to secure the players he wants I'd rather us take that approach than look for value and not sign the players he has identified.

We currently have Rashford and Lingard who have come through the academy and we are now seeing the emergence of others such as Tuanzebe.

Man Utd is a Club that has always believed in youth and I don't see that changing any time soon. The key is investing in both the academy and the first team and trying to find the right balance.

We are seeing the Club having to spend heavily in recent years due to a chronic last of investment in the latter years of the Fergi era.

The money in football is insane but if your not prepared to compete financially then ultimately you will struggle. Of course there are bargains to be had and examples of Clubs building strong squads on limited budgets but ultimately this is not sustainable and they will inevitably fall away. Whilst Spurs have been brilliant in recent years they have still failed to win anything and if they do not invest and build on what they've got they will slowly fall off the pace and find themselves unable to compete.

There is no point in complaining about the money in the game Clubs are making millions from sponsorship and TV revenue and I'd rather see it being spent on wages and transfer fee's rather than lining the pockets of the owners who are only in the game to get rich.

English clubs have never had so much money and it has coincided with our worse performance in the CL .

Maybe something in that .

I'm convinced with the top mangers all at the top Clubs in the EPL and with the investments being made in the squads then it won't be long before English Clubs are back competing in Europe again. I expect sides such as Juventus and Athletico who have done tremendously well in recent seasons to start to drop away and be replaced by the likes of Utd, City and Chelsea in the next few seasons. We are still behind but I expect that gap to close pretty quickly now. Time will tell I suppose.

I wouldn't't get to bogged down with the youth side of things, that is what our club president is there to protect. The 90 year old tradition to put a youth system player in every first team match day squad will always be achievable even if they are on the bench.

I never call the Glazers and got lambasted on here during the yellow and green period being called Mike the Moron Red. They are businessmen who saw a good investment and went for it. They are only here anyway because of the greed of one man over a racehorse, but that's an old argument now anyway.

Ferguson was a bit stubborn towards the end and was trying to prove everybody wrong and in some respects he did, but there was always going to have to come a time when we moved with the modern game. I doubt we will ever see these long dynasties of domination again like ourselves and Liverpool, everyone has got dough now. And long era's for managers have gone also.

We were always going to have to change and start acting like the big club we purport to be. There is no time for time now, its back to the hilt financially and deliver if not your out. I firmly believe although we will now never know that Mourinho was history if we hadn't qualified for the CL. Its that ruthless guys. We had to change as a club and now we have even since Moyes was appointed. No CL your gone.

I agree with this Danny Lancs lad whoever he is and we seem to be on the same page, for most things anyway. Mourinho is a top manager make no mistake about it, 3 honours already will do me for starters. We won't win it every year let's face it but if we are in the mix with a chance you can have no complaints.
