Logically, we're linked to Ronaldo every summer but never sign him because paying £70 + million for a player over 30 who commands the biggest wage in football and doesn't want to leave his current club is a nonstarter.

Danny,

Look at you shouting down the poor lads dreams. Stop talking sense!

It's not my dream but if you forget about money because it's not important for a minute and if it was possible I think it would make perfect sense. Rashford learning from the best and he wouldn't be here for that long you would think so it wouldn't put rashford to the back burner for that long. (That's if rashford even becomes the player we hope he does) Put it this way, would you rather morata, bellotti or ronaldo?

Jose said there's a surprise on his list, and then he leaked stories to the press to unsettle Ronaldo and make him want to leave Spain.

It isn't going to happen.

You're making a team for the future. As good as Ronaldo is, he cannot be the focal point of your attack.

And given a choice between a young Rashford and a Morata, I'd take Morata all day long. Not to say that I don't rate Rashford, that's far from the truth, but he still needs to learn and develop, he needs to learn while playing, which will be more often if Morata is there, than if Ronaldo comes it.

I didn't mean focal point of your attack, I meant the focal point of your team.

I would have Ronaldo any day he will make us champions again and will win the champions league with him too. If there is a chance go and grab him!

I would take Ronaldo back in a heartbeat. If Zlatan can bang in 28 goals at the age of 35 with little or no mobility, Ronaldo obviously makes sense. he's got another 5 years in him as a CF, he may have lost electric pace but he's still quicker than most. Great in the air and selfish enough to shoot and score.

Also he's a leader. Give him the armband, make Herrea vice captain and happy days.

We would make the money spent back on merchandise anyway. Get him on plane, bring him home from Spain Viva Ronaldo!

Can we just stop with wee little Marcus Rashford and his need for tutors? Last year was fine to learn from Zlatan's mentality. Now it's time to let the young man play.

Whats this surprise people keep going on about? Surely its pure fiction, can any of Ed's confirm it?

{Ed004's Note - Jose said it in one of his interviews}

Jose+Ronaldo = Champions

I still think the surprise isn't Ronaldo. I think it's a former Chelsea player. 😆😆.

I get that most of our signings should be young players with room to develop, stay for a long time, or eventually move on for big money. But this isn't a good player, or a great player, it's a top five all time player. He takes incredible care of his body, has transitioned from a speedy winger to a physically imposing striker, and should be able to continue playing at a ballon dor level for a number of years.

The one thing that will sting is having to pay more than we got for him. Essentially we'll have paid Madrid millions to take Ronaldo for his prime, but there's no crying over spilt milk and just as buying pogba last summer was the right move despite the history involved, it would be a huge mistake to pass on Ronaldo bc of optics. There's also the fact that he's one of the few players who's worth in marketing, sponsorships and even short sales will cover a large part of the costs, both in transfer fee and wages.

Trying not to get my hopes up. Trying.

Unfortunately most people don't seem to realise that Ronaldo and his marketing team have all the sponsorship deals they want already tied up. The addition of Ronaldo, in my understanding would not actually add much money to United in a marketing sense when compared to the likes of a morata or mbappe.
